Back in Tampa Bay
Knue signed with the Buccaneers' practice squad Monday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Knue spent training camp with Tampa Bay and will now get another opportunity with the franchise after they placed Cody Thompson (shoulder) on the practice-squad injured list. The Eastern Michigan product had nine catches on 13 targets for 86 yards and a touchdown with the Bucs during the preseason.

Let go by Tampa Bay
Knue was waived by the Buccaneers on Sunday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Knue joined the Bucs in April as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Michigan. He accumulated nine catches on 13 targets for 86 yards and one touchdown across Tampa Bay's three preseason games, but he will not make the team's 53-man roster. Assuming he clears waivers, Knue may stick around and sign with the Bucs on the practice squad or look for opportunities elsewhere.

Stays busy in second preseason game
Knue secured five of six targets for 33 yards and returned one kickoff for 20 yards in the Buccaneers' 20-7 preseason loss to the Jaguars on Saturday night.
Analysis: Knue tied Cody Thompson for the team lead in receptions and targets while checking in second to his teammate in receiving yards. Knue now has seven receptions across his first two preseason games and has gained 50 yards on two kickoff returns, but he may still have a difficult time latching on to the final 53-man roster unless he puts on a spectacular showing in Friday's preseason finale against the Dolphins.

Multiple roles in preseason opener
Knue secured two of five targets for 29 yards, returned one kickoff for 30 yards and ran back two punts for 22 yards in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday night.
Analysis: The undrafted free agent had a chance to show off his versatility while tying for the team lead in targets. Knue's usage as a returner was particularly noteworthy, considering he ran back all of one kickoff during his six-year college tenure at Eastern Michigan. Knue appears to almost certainly be a practice-squad candidate at best due to the Buccaneers' deep receiver corps, but the coaching staff is apparently intrigued by his talent given the amount of opportunity he saw in his first…read more
