Remains productive in win
Kelce secured eight of 12 targets for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' 16-14 win over the Broncos on Sunday.
Analysis: Kelce set the pace for the Chiefs in receptions and targets while checking in just a yard short of Kareem Hunt for a tie for the team lead in that category as well. The star tight end also recorded his second touchdown of the season on a two-yard grab late in the first half, and he now boasts a 32-254-2 line on 40 targets in his last three games alone as Kansas City prepares for a Week 11 road showdown against the Bills.

Stays hot with 14 catches Monday
Kelce hauled in 14 of 16 targets for 100 yards with one lost fumble in Monday's overtime win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Kelce reached triple digits in receiving yards for the first time this season, and the Chiefs needed every yard after narrowly defeating the Buccaneers. The star tight end has generated a whopping 24 receptions and 190 yards with a touchdown over his previous two contests. The presence of trade acquisition DeAndre Hopkins has clearly benefited Kelce by giving Kansas City another threat to worry about. The latter could be in store for a big second half based on recent developments as the Chiefs…read more

Biggest fantasy game in 2024
Kelce corralled 10 of 12 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Kelce posted a strong receiving line complemented by his first receiving touchdown of the 2024 season. The star tight end finally put it all together for fantasy managers who drafted him early in drafts this year. Perhaps the addition of proven No. 1 wideout DeAndre Hopkins will finally draw defenses away from Kelce. Up next for the Chiefs is a primetime matchup against the Buccaneers next Monday.

Little room to operate in win
Kelce finished with four receptions (five targets) for 17 yards in Sunday's 28-18 win over the 49ers.
Analysis: It was clear that the 49ers came into this contest with a game plan to limit Kelce for a shorthanded Chiefs offense. While the opponent's defensive strategy was successful, it did not lead to a win, as Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City's rushing attack (four combined touchdowns) took care of business Sunday. Kelce was coming off of a pair of strong fantasy outings in his previous two contests, so managers will be hoping for a bounce-back performance against the Raiders next Sunday.

Season-best effort in win
Kelce secured nine of 10 targets for 70 yards in the Chiefs' 26-13 win over the Saints on Monday night.
Analysis: Kelce led the Chiefs in receptions and targets on the night with figures that also qualified as season highs. The star tight end has reemerged over the last pair of contests after a worrisome first three games, having generated a 14-159-0 line in the former span. Kelce's contributions have been particularly critical considering the depleted nature of the team's receiving corps, which has now lost its top two members in Rashee Rice (IR, knee) and Marquise Brown (IR, shoulder). Performance improves
Kelce recorded seven receptions on nine targets for 89 yards in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: After combining to earn only 12 targets through three games this season, Kelce finally saw a more significant role in the Chiefs' offense. He had a few big gains on the day, the longest of which was a 38-yard catch down the right sideline on the team's first possession. While Kelce isn't likely to return to his production from past campaigns, he'll almost certainly regain his role as the centerpiece of the offense with Rashee Rice (knee) suffering an apparent long-term injury Sunday.

Still searching for breakout game
Kelce caught four of five targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Falcons.
Analysis: Kelce's slow start continued in the first half, as he had just four yards on two targets. He made a nine-yard catch on the first play of the third quarter and added an 18-yard catch four plays later but then went quiet again. The star tight end has a meager 69 receiving yards and has yet to score a touchdown heading into a Week 4 road game against the Chargers.

Slow start continues
Kelce caught one of three targets for five yards and added a one-yard run in Sunday's 26-25 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Kelce came just short of his first touchdown of the season in the third quarter, getting tackled inside the 1-yard line before backup left tackle Wanya Morris caught a touchdown on the next play to give Kansas City a 17-16 lead. The star tight end had a 41-yard catch called back on a holding penalty in the fourth quarter, so he came close to significantly improving his meager stat line on two separate occasions. Quiet night in opener
Kelce caught three of four targets for 34 yards in a 27-20 win over the Ravens on Thursday night.
Analysis: Kelce had an uncharacteristically quiet performance to start the season, with fellow tight end Noah Gray actually matching his reception total and outgaining him by three yards. Most of Kelce's production came on an impressive 23-yard reception, as the veteran star ceded the spotlight to Rashee Rice and rookie first-round pick Xavier Worthy. Kelce should have a more robust role other weeks this season, and he'll aim to make good on that possibility against the Bengals in Week 2.

Catches behind-the-back pass
Kelce caught one reception for eight yards on one target in Saturday's preseason game against Detroit.
Analysis: What looked like a nifty trick play turned out to be a comical and fortuitous accident, as Patrick Mahomes threw a behind-the-back screen pass to Kelce that was later clarified as Kelce running the wrong route and Mahomes throwing behind the back out of momentary necessity. Either way, it's more of the same story from the past six years -- Mahomes and Kelce dominating, be it by accident or design. One catch in preseason loss
Kelce brought in his only target for seven yards in the Chiefs' 26-13 preseason loss to the Jaguars on Saturday night.
Analysis: Kelce was out there with the rest of the Chiefs' first-team offense on the opening possession and on the receiving end of Patrick Mahomes' third and final completion of the night. The perennial Pro Bowl tight end doesn't realistically need many preseason reps, but he could see at least a couple of additional possessions in Kansas City's second preseason game next Saturday afternoon against the Lions.

Inks two-year extension
Kelce and the Chiefs agreed to terms Monday on a two-year extension that makes him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The exact terms of Kelce's new extension have yet to be disclosed, but coming off another Super Bowl title and heading into his age-35 season, Kelce's pay rate will top his position. The four-time All-Pro had logged seven consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards before being held to a 93-984-5 receiving line in 2023, but in Kansas City's four postseason contests he operated in prime form, scoring three touchdowns while never falling below 70 receiving yards. Nine receptions in Super Bowl
Kelce recorded nine receptions (on 10 targets) for 93 yards in Sunday's 25-22 overtime victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
Analysis: Kelce was held nearly silent in the first half, as he had only one catch on one target for one yard. However, he came alive in the final two quarters to help the Chiefs to a comeback Super Bowl victory. His biggest play of the game came on the final drive of regulation, when he shook free of Fred Werner and picked up 22 yards to give Harrison Butker a short field-goal attempt to tie the game. Monster game en route to Super Bowl
Kelce hauled in all 11 of his targets Sunday for 116 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' 17-10 win over the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.
Analysis: Kelce hit the ground running with three receptions, including a 19-yard touchdown, on the Chiefs' first offensive possession Sunday. The star tight end would team up with Patrick Mahomes eight more times as the teammates proceeded to systematically dissect one of the top-rated defenses in the league. Kansas City's defense flexed its own muscles to close out the low-scoring victory and send Kelce and Co. to Las Vegas to face either the Lions or the 49ers on Sunday, Feb. 11 for Super Bowl LVIII.

Kelce recorded five receptions on six targets for 75 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bills.
Analysis: Kelce snapped out of a significant slump in the wild-card round, and he took another step forward against the Bills. His strong rapport with Patrick Mahomes shone through, as he led the Chiefs in targets and accounted for two of the team's three touchdowns with catches of 22 and three yards. Shows signs of improvement
Kelce recorded seven receptions on 10 targets for 71 yards in Saturday's 26-7 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: It would be a stretch to call this a vintage performance from Kelce, particularly because he had two drops -- one of which would have been a gain of at least 15 yards. However, it was still his highest yardage total since Week 14, and he did have significant gains of 22 and 13 yards. Kelce has been overshadowed by Rashee Rice in recent weeks, but he'll still remain key to the Chiefs' additional playoff run.

Kelce (neck) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Analysis: Kelce was limited in all three of Kansas City's practices but will be available for the regular-season finale. Locked into the No. 3 seed in the AFC either way, the Chiefs have the option to rest some of their top players in preparation for the playoffs, and they will be starting Blaine Gabbert rather than Patrick Mahomes under center. However, with the Chiefs locked in as the AFC's No. 3 seed in the playoffs, the tight end will be a candidate to be rested this weekend, especially if he's less than 100 percent. Poor performance against Bengals
Kelce recorded three catches on four targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 25-17 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Kansas City's offense showed signs of improvement in its Week 17 win over the Bengals, though that didn't carry over to Kelce's individual performance. Instead, his longest gain of the day went for only 10 yards, and he was held under 50 receiving yards for the third straight contest. Despite the poor close to the campaign, Kelce needs only 16 yards in Kansas City's regular-season finale to reach the century mark for the eighth straight year.

Five receptions in Christmas loss
Kelce caught five of seven targets for 44 yards in Monday's 20-14 loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Vegas' pass rush was in Patrick Mahomes' face most of the afternoon, but surprisingly Kelce didn't see added target volume as a safety valve for his QB. The tight end has seen double-digit targets only three times this season -- his lowest total since 2019 -- but Kelce still sits just 32 yards short of his eighth straight 1,000-yard campaign heading into a Week 17 clash with a Bengals defense that ranks last in the league in catches and yards allowed to TEs in 2023.

Five grabs against Pats
Kelce caught five of seven targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: Bill Belichick's defense made it a priority to stop Kelce from beating them, and while it wasn't a successful formula for winning the game, it did lead the tight end to his lowest yardage total since Week 9. Kelce is 76 yards short of another 1,000-yard campaign and 15 receptions away from his fourth season with at least 100, and he'll look to pad his totals in Week 16 against a Raiders defense he delivered a 6-91-0 line against on seven targets in their first 2023 meeting.

Kelce caught six of 10 targets for 83 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: The tight end led Kansas City in receiving yards, and he nearly produced the winning score on the team's final drive -- Kelce caught a deep pass over the middle from Patrick Mahomes, and before he could be tackled he flipped a lateral to Kadarius Toney, who dashed untouched into the end zone. Analysis: Kelce saw surprisingly limited target volume given that the Chiefs were playing from behind for the entire game. However, he still turned in one of his better performances of the season thanks to long gains of 27, 23 and 21 yards. Analysis: The Dolphins defense clearly came into the game with a plan to make sure Kelce wouldn't beat them, as the superstar tight end was double- and triple-teamed on every route he ran. The 14 receiving yards was his lowest output since he was held to one catch for six yards in Week 1 of the 2018 season, but with Kansas City on its bye next week, expect Kelce to be well-rested and ready to rebound in Week 11 for a Super Bowl rematch with the Eagles.

Nine targets, TD in season debut
Kelce (knee) caught four of nine targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Making his season debut after sitting out the Week 1 loss to the Lions, Kelce had a 17-yard catch erased by a holding penalty in the first quarter and didn't register his first reception until just over three minutes remained in the first half. After shaking off the rust, Kelce got going in the second half, capping Kansas City's first drive of the third quarter with a nine-yard touchdown to take a 14-6 lead. Returns to action Sunday
Kelce (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Kelce was officially listed as questionable for the contest after practicing in a limited fashion this week, but the star tight end will give it a go Sunday after missing the Chiefs' regular-season opener back on Sept. 7. Barring any in-game setbacks or limitations, Kelce should reclaim his role as a top target for QB Patrick Mahomes in a Kansas City passing offense that could use a spark following the team's 21-20 loss to the Lions in Week 1.

Looks set for season debut
Kelce (knee) is expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Despite being officially listed as questionable for the Week 2 matchup, Kelce is on track to make his season debut after he was a limited participant in practices Wednesday through Friday. Because he's likely still not 100 percent healed from the bone bruise in his right knee, Kelce is expected to continue wearing a compression sleeve on his knee, as he has been doing in practice. Questionable, but expected to play
Kelce (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars after practicing in a limited fashion this week.
Analysis: Kelce is working his way back from a bone bruise in his right knee, an injury he sustained in a Sept. 5 practice before he ultimately sat out the Chiefs' season-opening loss to the Lions. Though Kelce wasn't able to turn in a full practice during Week 2 prep, head coach Andy Reid told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network earlier Friday that the standout tight end is expected to play this weekend. Gets green light for Sunday
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that Kelce (knee) will play in Sunday's game against the Jaguars, barring any setbacks leading up to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After sitting out the Chiefs' Week 1 loss to the Lions with a bone bruise in his knee, Kelce returned to the practice field as a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday. Reid hasn't revealed whether Kelce will upgrade to full activity during the Chiefs' final practice of the week Friday, and while the tight end could still end up taking a questionable tag into Sunday, he's apparently shown enough progress in his recovery from the injury to convince the Kansas City staff he'll be ready to…read more

Still limited at practice
Kelce (knee) remained a limited participant during Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy previously told Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network that Kelce looked good in his return to practice Wednesday, though Nagy acknowledged that the decision on whether the standout tight end plays Sunday against the Jaguars will ultimately fall on the shoulders of head coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach. With that in mind, Kelce could head into the weekend with a questionable designation, regardless of what he's able to do in Friday's practice.

Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy noted Thursday that Kelce (knee) looked good at practice Wednesday, but he added that coach Andy Reid and GM Brett Veach will make the call on whether the tight end plays Sunday against the Jaguars, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: With that in mind, Nagy indicated that the Chiefs have prepared game plans for scenarios in which Kelce plays or doesn't suit up. The tight end was officially limited at practice Wednesday, and based on Nagy's comments, it seems likely that Kelce will approach Sunday's contest listed as questionable.

Back at practice in limited fashion
Kelce (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Analysis: After suffering a deep bone bruise in his knee during last Tuesday's practice, Kelce was made inactive for the Chiefs' season-opening loss to Detroit two days later, but his ability to practice Wednesday is a positive sign regarding his status for Sunday's game in Jacksonville. James Palmer of NFL Network previously reported that Kelce pushed to play against the Lions, which suggests that the tight end's absence may be limited to one contest.

Kelce (knee) is slated to practice in a limited capacity Wednesday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Kelce suffered a deep bone bruise in his knee during last Tuesday's practice and ended up being inactive for the Chiefs' 21-20 season-opening loss to the Lions. While the star tight end is in line to be a limited participant when the Chiefs begin Week 2 prep Wednesday, his ability to practice in any capacity is nonetheless a positive sign ahead of this weekend's contest against the Jaguars.

Could play in Week 2
Kelce has already begun the rehab process with his knee and could be ready to play in the Chiefs' Week 2 matchup with the Jaguars on Sept. 17, Jay Glazer reported on the "Fox NFL Sunday" pregame show.
Analysis: Glazer noted that Kelce went through a set of workouts Saturday without the knee swelling up afterward, giving the Chiefs some early optimism that he'll be ready to play Week 2. When Kelce went down with the knee injury in practice Tuesday, the Chiefs were initially concerned that he suffered a tibial plateau fracture, which would have kept the tight end out for the season. Kelce (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Lions.
Analysis: Kelce hyperextended his knee during Tuesday's practice and was tagged as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report. The fact that he's listed as questionable for the season opener supports the notion that Kelce has avoided a long-term issue, but in any event, a decision on his Week 1 status could go down the wire ahead of Thursday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. Week 1 status TBD
Kelce, who hyperextended his knee during Tuesday's practice, is thought to be dealing with a bone bruise ahead of Thursday's season opener against the Lions, Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report.
Analysis: While Kelce is believed to have avoided a long-term knee injury, the timing of the injury clouds his Week 1 status. Kelce isn't believed to have suffered a long-term injury after hyperextending his knee in Tuesday's practice, but his status is in doubt for Thursday's season opener versus the Lions, Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network report.
Analysis: Kansas City won't know the full extent of Kelce's injury until the swelling in his knee subsides enough for him to receive X-rays and/or undergo an MRI, but the initial belief is that the standout tight end won't face an extended absence. Kelce recorded six receptions on six targets for 81 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-35 Super Bowl win over the Eagles.

He also paced Kansas City in receiving yards, highlighted by a long grab of 22 yards. With his availability versus Cincinnati confirmed, Kelce should remain a key cog in the Chiefs' passing attack provided his back spasms don't flare up again in-game. Kelce recorded 14 receptions on 17 targets for 98 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 27-20 win over Jacksonville.

The highlights came on touchdown grabs of eight and one yards, and he also recorded long gains of 15 and 14 yards. The star tight end has been on a touchdown drought over the last four weeks, but it is hard to complain about a player who has already contributed 12 scores through 15 games. Kelce caught four of nine targets for 71 yards in Sunday's 34-28 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: By his standards it was a quiet performance, but it also represents something close to his floor as Kelce has hauled in at least four passes in every game this season, either topping 50 yards or catching at least one TD (or both) each time. Kelce has no fewer than seven targets in any of his first three games and has collected 17 receptions overall in that span, sending him into a Week 4 road showdown against the Buccaneers with solid momentum.

Team-leading five grabs in win
Kelce brought in five of seven targets for 51 yards in the Chiefs' 27-24 win over the Chargers on Thursday night.
Analysis: Kelce had lit up the Chargers for 17 receptions, 295 yards and two touchdowns in two games last season, so expectations were naturally high coming into Thursday night. Kelce paced Kansas City in receptions and receiving yards and shared the team lead in targets on the night, also coming within a couple of yards of the end zone late in the third quarter when Derwin James stopped him in his tracks. Nevertheless, the performance was modest by the perennial Pro Bowler's lofty standards. Kelce will…read more

Tops century mark Sunday
Kelce caught eight of nine targets for 121 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-21 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: With Tyreek Hill now in Miami, Kelce is the clear top target for Patrick Mahomes, and he proved it in Week 1 by leading Kansas City in receptions, targets and receiving yards while hauling in Mahomes' first of five TD passes on the day. The tight end recorded his 30th career game with 100-plus yards, leaving Kelce just two games short of Rob Gronkowski's NFL record of 32, with Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez (31) the only other TE in league history with 30 or more.

Agrees to contract adjustment
Kelce and the Chiefs agreed to terms on an adjusted contract Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Kelce's new deal increases his salary for the 2022 campaign, and while the move which should keep the star tight end happy for this season, it doesn't address a potential contract dispute down the road. The 32-year-old is under contract with Kansas City through 2025, on a deal which looks like a relative bargain for the team considering that Kelce is coming off six consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns. Not worried about contract
Kelce said "you can't pay me enough" when KSHB 41's Aaron Ladd asked him if he's underpaid, but the tight end also suggested he isn't concerned with his contract right now, noting that he'll "let everyone else worry about the money situation."
Analysis: It's probably not news to Kelce that he's signed extensions early and lost some money because of it. He's still been among the highest-paid tight ends in the league most years, which nonetheless makes him a bargain for the Chiefs when he puts up receiving stats more like a top WR than a top TE. The 32-year-old most recently signed an extension in August 2020, keeping him under contract through 2025 with projected cap hits of $8.9 million (2022), $14.7 million (2023), $16.4 million (2024) and…read more

Strong performance in playoff loss
Kelce caught 10 of 11 targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.
Analysis: Kelce was Kansas City's leader in targets, catches and receiving yards, producing yet another superb playoff performance. He racked up at least 95 receiving yards in all six of Kansas City's playoff games over the past two seasons while scoring six touchdowns in those contests. The tight end's five-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter gave the Chiefs a 14-3 lead, but the Bengals stormed back from an 11-point halftime deficit to pull off the upset. Scores winning TD in OT
Kelce caught eight of nine targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 42-36 overtime win over Buffalo.
Analysis: Kelce saved his biggest contributions for last in this one. The tight end's 25-yard catch-and-run in the final seconds of the fourth quarter set up Harrison Butker's game-tying 49-yard field goal as time expired. The Chiefs got the ball first in overtime, and Kelce ended it eight plays later with an eight-yard touchdown catch. Monster two-score game
Kelce corralled five of seven targets for 108 yards and a touchdown Sunday, adding a two-yard passing touchdown on his lone pass attempt in a 42-21 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Patrick Mahomes and Kelce were in sync as usual, and the latter even vultured a passing touchdown. The star tight end will face a stiff test in the AFC divisional round, as the Bills have surrendered the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends all season. However, Kelce did relatively well in a Week 5 matchup between the clubs, going for six catches on 10 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown. Analysis: Kelce was involved early in the game, as he capped Kansas City's opening drive with a three-yard touchdown reception. Otherwise, he was limited in impact, though he did log a pair of 12-yard catches. Though Kelce has been limited to under 50 receiving yards in four of his last five games, he's also also found the end zone on four occasions in his last three contests. Analysis: Kelce scored from three yards out in the first quarter and came inches from scoring his second touchdown of the game in the second. He was ruled just short and Darrel Williams scored on the ground on the next play. After looking unstoppable in the first half en route to a 28-17 lead, the entire Chiefs offense struggled in the second half as Cincinnati came back to end Kansas City's winning streak at eight games. Returns with full practice
Kelce (illness) isn't listed on Wednesday's injury report after being removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Analysis: A full practice at the beginning of the week suggests Kelce may be on track to handle his normal workload Sunday in Cincinnati after missing the Chiefs' Week 16 win over Pittsburgh. Teammate Tyreek Hill played only 42 percent of the snaps on offense against Pittsburgh after recovering from his own bout with COVID-19, but Kelce will have had more time to rest and regain his strength before the upcoming matchup with the Bengals.

Returning to practice
Kelce (illness) is on track to return from the reserve/COVID-19 list to take part in practice Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Kelce's impending return to practice puts him on track to play in Sunday's game against the Bengals, following his absence during the Chiefs' win over the Steelers last weekend. Most of his vacated snaps went to backup tight end Noah Gray, but wide receivers Byron Pringle and Mecole Hardman did most of the damage in the passing game with Kelce out and Tyreek Hill playing limited snaps. Kelce should have time to ramp up before Sunday, assuming all goes well in practice Wednesday.

Officially ruled out for Week 16
The Chiefs downgraded Kelce (not injury related) from questionable to out in advance of Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Analysis: Though the Chiefs reinstated Kelce from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, the transaction was made with the hope that he would fully clear the NFL's return-to-play COVID-19 protocols ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Kelce (illness), who remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers, won't be available for the contest after he was unable to clear the NFL's COVID-19 return-to-play protocols, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Though Kansas City reinstated Kelce from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, the team only made the transaction so he would be on the 53-man roster and therefore eligible to play if he cleared the protocol Sunday morning. The Chiefs have activated Kelce (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 reserve list and added him to the team's injury report as questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Analysis: Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Kelce has yet to clear COVID protocols, but the Chiefs are holding out hope that he may gain clearance ahead of Sunday's 4:25 ET game against the Steelers. If that doesn't happen, Kelce can then be made inactive by the team. Next up for the team's TE looks if Kelce isn't available Sunday are Blake Bell and Noah Gray.

Though Kelce (illness) has yet to clear COVID protocols, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, it looks likely that the Chiefs will activate him from the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Kelce brought in 10 of 13 targets for 191 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs' 34-28 overtime win over the Chargers on Thursday night.

The competition level figures to turn up a notch this week against a tough Chargers team, which could afford the veteran tight end more opportunities to get his hands on the ball. Quiet in Sunday's win
Kelce had three receptions on eight targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 22-9 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: The Broncos seemed committed to limiting the Chiefs' top two offensive options, and the strategy was effective in keeping the score close for the majority of the contest. This also resulted in a poor fantasy showing from Kelce, who produced his worst fantasy line this year in formats that award any points for receptions. Analysis: The tight end had a respectable showing through the air and boosted his production with his second career rushing TD in the first quarter -- coincidentally, the first one also came on a four-yard run back in 2019. Kelce has already topped 800 receiving yards on the season, and he'll get a well-deserved rest over a Week 12 bye as he steams toward his sixth straight 1,000-yard campaign.

Most of the star tight end's damage came on shorter chip-and-release routes before letting his YAC skills take over. Kelce caught five passes for 68 yards and one touchdown on eight targets against Green Bay on Sunday.
Analysis: Kelce wasn't exactly dominant, and the touchdown occurred near the goal line off play action, but it was still an encouraging box score for Kelce, especially given the broader struggles of the Kansas City passing game. Patrick Mahomes threw for only 166 yards and one touchdown, so with that in mind Kelce's numbers begin to look better. Cleared to play
Kelce (neck) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans after returning to a full practice Friday.
Analysis: After logging back-to-back limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday, Kelce practiced in full Friday, paving the way for him to be cleared to face Tennessee. Six weeks into the 2021 season, Kelce continues to produce at a high level, having racked up 38 catches (on 53 targets) for 468 yards and four TDs in that span. Over his last two outings, the tight end has combined for 14 catches on 21 targets and has logged double-digit targets in three of his last four contests.

Kelce (neck) was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Per James Palmer of NFL Network, Kelce was looked at by trainers during this past Sunday's win over Washington, but he then returned to action. Kelce recorded eight receptions on 11 targets for 99 yards in Sunday's 31-13 win over Washington.
Analysis: Kelce suffered an apparent injury to his left arm in the second half and was examined on the sideline, as reported by James Palmer of NFL Network. However, he returned to the game and appeared to put the issue behind him to to record a season-high eight receptions. He also topped 75 receiving yards for the first time since Week 3, in large part due to receptions of 20, 19 and 17 yards. Kelce (neck) isn't listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Analysis: Following Sunday's 38-20 loss to Buffalo, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid relayed that Kelce suffered "a little bit of a stinger" during the contest, but the star tight end's name wasn't on on the team's initial Week 6 practice report. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Kelce suffered "a little bit of a stinger" during Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Bills, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: The injury happened late enough that the tight end still caught six of 10 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown while playing 87 percent of snaps. Kelce hasn't missed a game due to injury since his 2013 rookie campaign, but it does sound like he'll be listed on the injury report for Week 6 at Washington along with Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) and Tyreek Hill (knee). Hits pay dirt on SNF
Kelce had six receptions (10 targets) for 57 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Kelce got back in the mix after allowing Tyreek Hill to shine last week against the Eagles. The star tight end posted his first touchdown in three weeks and fourth overall this season. There is a chance that Kelce is even more heavily involved in next week's game plan, as the Washington Football Team may not give Patrick Mahomes a lot of time in the pocket, so shorter routes by Kelce may be needed to combat the fierce pass rush.

Kelce caught four of six targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 42-30 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: Kelce was uncharacteristically quiet in this one, as the Chiefs featured fellow elite playmaker Tyreek Hill (11 catches for 186 yards and three touchdowns). The tight end's six targets still ranked second on the team behind Hill's 12 while nobody else had more than three. Kelce is a candidate to be rested in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Chargers after dealing with some nagging injuries in recent weeks, Dave Skretta of the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Kelce isn't listed on the Chiefs' Week 17 injury report and would likely play without any restrictions in a normal scenario, but Kansas City has already locked up the AFC's No. 1 seed, and head coach Andy Reid has stated that he plans to give rest to key players, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Though Reid hasn't detailed his plans for Kelce specifically, the star tight end and wideout Tyreek Hill (hamstring) are both likely to have minimal roles if active Week 17, as the Chiefs look to…read more

Sets receiving record for position
Kelce secured seven of 13 targets for 98 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 17-14 win against the Falcons.
Analysis: Kelce made NFL history Sunday, surpassing George Kittle's 2018 record for tight end receiving yards in a single season (1,377). With his Week 16 output, the six-time Pro Bowler pushes his season-long total to 1,416 yards, also leaping back ahead of Green Bay's Robert Tonyan for the TE league lead with his 11th TD catch of the year Sunday. Kelce has amassed double-digit targets in seven of his past eight games, but there's a possibility he's held out for a Week 17 matchup against the Chargers,…read more

Finds end zone in win
Kelce caught eight of 12 targets for 68 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-29 win over the Saints.
Analysis: He took a shovel pass from Patrick Mahomes for a one-yard score early in the second quarter, giving Kelce a TD in three straight games and tying his career high with 10 on the year. He's also closing in on history, as Kelce needs only 60 more receiving yards next week against the Falcons to break George Kittle's single-season NFL record for a tight end of 1,377.

Continues stellar stretch
Kelce caught eight of 10 targets for 136 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-27 win over Miami.
Analysis: Kelce's six-yard touchdown with 37 seconds left in the first half put the Chiefs up 14-10, and they proceeded to pull away with 16 unanswered points in the third quarter. The star tight end replicated his stat line from last week, and such performances have become the new normal for Kelce. He has caught at least eight passes in each of his last six games, topping 100 yards in five of those and finding the end zone in four. Kelce will look to keep rolling in Week 15 against the Saints.

Dominates in win
Kelce racked up 138 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight receptions (13 targets) in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: The Chiefs were uncharacteristically poor in the red zone, but Kelce was able to cash in on Patrick Mahomes' lone touchdown heave. The star tight end blew by the 1,000-yard marker for the fifth year in a row, and he is on pace to finish with double-digit touchdowns (eight through 12 games) for just the second time in his storied career. The 31-year-old continues to be one of the most consistent fantasy assets in the game with Mahomes under center, averaging numbers worthy of a WR1 with 6.8…read more

Strong production in win
Kelce brought in all eight targets for 82 yards in the Chiefs' 27-24 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Analysis: The veteran was a distant second to Tyreek Hill in receptions, receiving yards and targets, but his numbers were nevertheless solid from a fantasy perspective. Kelce's yardage tally Sunday left him just short of the 1,000-yard mark for the campaign, a threshold that, once eclipsed, will render the 31-year-old the first tight end in NFL history to accomplish the feat in five consecutive seasons. Catches game-winning score
Kelce hauled in eight passes (10 targets ) for 127 yards and a touchdown Sunday. He also completed his lone pass attempt on a trick play for four yards in a 35-31 win over Las Vegas.
Analysis: Kelce feasted between the hashes against the Raiders' safeties, consistently getting open down the field as Patrick Mahomes scrambled to buy time behind the line before connecting with his favorite target. The 31-year-old has been on an absolute tear of late, averaging 9.3 receptions and 139.7 yards with two total touchdowns over his last three contests. Spectacular numbers in win
Kelce secured 10 of 12 targets for 159 yards in the Chiefs' 33-31 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Kelce paced the team in receptions and receiving yards in a performance highlighted by a 44-yard grab, his second-longest catch of the campaign. The Panthers came into the contest with solid numbers against tight ends, but Kelce's elite athleticism, which has now helped him to three 100-yard efforts in the last five games, clearly overcame any statistical disadvantage. Leading receiver in blowout win
Kelce caught eight of 12 targets for 109 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-9 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Kelce's three-yard touchdown put the Chiefs up 21-9 with 58 seconds left in the first half, and he led the Chiefs in targets, catches and receiving yards as Patrick Mahomes piled up 416 yards and five touchdowns through the air. The league's most dependable receiving option at the tight end position has 48 catches for 610 yards and six touchdowns through eight games, putting Kelce on pace to eclipse 1,200 receiving yards for a third consecutive season. He'll face the Panthers in Week 9.

Quiet outing against Broncos
Kelce caught all three of his targets for 31 receiving yards during Sunday's 43-16 win against Denver.
Analysis: The five-time Pro Bowler was proving to be the surest tight end in fantasy through the first six weeks of 2020, as he had amassed 70 receiving yards or recorded a touchdown in all six of his appearances entering Sunday. Kelce had three TDs in his preceding two games coming into the divisional tilt, but Kansas City tallied only one passing TD on 25 attempts during the drubbing of Denver. Catches two touchdowns in win
Kelce caught five of seven targets for 65 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 26-17 win over the Bills. He also lost a fumble prior to halftime.
Analysis: Kelce got Kansas City on the board with an 11-yard reception toward the end of the first quarter, then found pay dirt from 12 yards out toward the end of the second. While those plays brought Kelce's touchdown total to five through six games, the tight end committed his first turnover of the season Monday, coughing the ball up just before halftime. Paces pass catchers in loss
Kelce brought in eight of 12 targets for 108 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' 40-32 loss to the Raiders on Sunday.
Analysis: The All-Pro tight end led the Chiefs in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon, and his seven-yard touchdown grab with 3:57 remaining gave Kansas City some fleeting hope. Kelce's 100-yard effort was his first of the season, and he's now logged double-digit targets on two occasions over the first five games. Tops team in receiving
Kelce caught three of six targets for 70 yards in Monday night's 26-10 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: Kelce again led Kansas City in receiving yards, with the bulk of his total coming on a 45-yard grab during the second half. That play was the Chiefs' longest of the game and helped compensate for Kelce posting a season low in catches. Nonetheless, with at least 70 yards and/or a touchdown in all four outings this season, Kelce is in fine form ahead of Week 5's game against the Raiders.

Kelce caught six of seven targets for 87 yards in Monday night's 34-20 win over the Ravens.
Analysis: Kelce led the Chiefs in receiving yards while going for a season-long gain of 29 yards during Monday's contest. Although he couldn't continue his touchdown streak to start the season, instead seeing teammates Anthony Sherman and Eric Fisher vulture close-range scores through the air, Kelce still caught six passes for the third straight game and topped 85 yards for the second in a row. Scores TD on nine receptions
Kelce caught nine of 14 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 23-20 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Kelce led the team in targets and catches while finishing behind only Tyreek Hill in receiving yards. He got the Chiefs on the board with a 10-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, giving him two scores in as many games to start the season. The star tight end also has 140 yards and 15 receptions to his name already, so he should remain locked into fantasy lineups despite a seemingly difficult matchup against the Ravens next Monday night.

Highly efficient effort in win
Kelce brought in all six of his targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' 34-20 win over the Texans on Thursday.
Analysis: The big tight end was particularly involved early, producing a 4-30 line and his six-yard scoring grab over Kansas City's first two drives. Despite a relatively quiet night the rest of the way, Kelce still finished second on the team in receptions and tied for second in targets, making it a solid season-opening fantasy effort. Kelce (knee) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice.
Analysis: After being listed as a limited participant Monday on the Chiefs' first official practice report of the 2020 season, Kelce's ability to take every rep in Tuesday's session erases any concern about his availability for Thursday's game against the Texans. Coming off four straight seasons of at least 80 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards, Kelce profiles as an easy top-two fantasy tight end this season, and his stronger track record on the health front probably makes him a safer choice than 49ers…read more

The Chiefs and Kelce are closing in on a four-year extension to keep the tight end in Kansas City through the 2025 season, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Notably, Kelce turns 31 in October, meaning he'll be 36 if he's able to play out the entire contract. Finds end zone in SB LIV win
Kelce brought in all six of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown during the Chiefs' 31-20 win over the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday.
Analysis: Kelce's reception tally was second only to Tyreek Hill on the night, and his one-yard touchdown grab with 6:13 remaining officially began the Chiefs' comeback from a 20-10 deficit. Kelce earned every reception he secured against the 49ers' stingy defense, and even though he was largely held in check over the final two postseason wins, the multi-time Pro Bowler was spectacular during the regular season with a 97-1,229-5 line across 16 games. Analysis: During the first week of prep for the big game, the Chiefs continued to cap Kelce's reps, holding him to an LP/DNP/LP practice regimen. Still, his lack of designation Friday indicates the team isn't worried about his availability. While San Francisco's defense has held tight ends to an NFL-best 5.9 yards per target this season (including playoffs), the unit has allowed the 14th-most receptions (80) and ninth-most TDs (nine) to the position. Kelce caught three of four targets for 30 yards during Sunday's 35-24 win over the Titans.
Analysis: Kelce's monstrous performance last week clearly caught the attention of the Titans defense, which placed the tight end in coverage early and often. Kelce grabbed all but one of the looks thrown his way but did little of note outside his long gain of 18 yards. Analysis: Kelce met or fell below season lows across multiple statistical categories Sunday, as a few big plays on special teams and in the run game negated the need for Patrick Mahomes to air it out. The victory still meant that the Chiefs will get a bye this weekend and face either the Patriots, Texans or Bills in the divisional round. Hauls in touchdown in win
Kelce caught seven of 10 targets for 92 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 24-17 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Kelce not only hauled in a team-long reception of 31 yards, but also caught Kansas City's only touchdown through the air, scoring from 23 yards out during the third quarter. In doing so, he comfortably led the Chiefs in all major receiving categories. Seven grabs in win
Kelce secured seven of nine targets for 62 yards in the Chiefs' 26-23 win over the Vikings on Sunday.
Analysis: Kelce co-led the Chiefs in receptions while checking in just behind Sammy Watkins in receiving yardage. The veteran tight end was second on the team in targets as well, and he's logged at least eight looks in all but one game this season. With Patrick Mahomes (knee) looking ready for a Week 10 return, Kelce should be in position to continue his solid production versus the Titans in a road matchup.
