Dealing with injury
The Eagles placed Ross (undisclosed) on their practice-squad injured list Monday.
Analysis: The 2017 first-round pick has appeared in one game for Philadelphia this season, catching one of his two targets for six yards across 11 offensive snaps. After being placed on the Eagles' practice-squad injured list, Ross will be forced to miss the team's next four games, with his earliest possible return coming in Week 12 against the Rams.

Back to practice squad
Ross reverted to the Eagles' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: Elevated for Sunday's game against the Bucs, Ross played 12 offensive snaps for the Eagles and caught one of two targets for six yards as the fourth wideout with A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) out.

Elevated Saturday
The Eagles elevated Ross to their active roster Saturday.
Analysis: Ross was elevated alongside Parris Campbell in order to provide depth to the Eagles' wide receiver room, as both A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) have been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Buccaneers. Expect Ross to play behind Campbell, Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson in Week 4.

Joins Philly's practice squad
The Eagles signed Ross to the practice squad Tuesday.
Analysis: Ross spent time with Philadelphia during the preseason, so he already boasts some familiarity with the offensive scheme. With top wideouts A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) both injured entering Week 4, Ross could be a candidate for elevation for Sunday's road matchup against the Buccaneers.

Released by Eagles
Ross was released by the Eagles on Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Ross was able to reel in four catches for 37 yards while also logging two kickoff returns for 68 yards during the preseason with Philadelphia. The wide receiver hasn't appeared in an NFL contest since 2021 with the Giants, and he'll now likely look for another opportunity elsewhere.

Concussion confirmed
Ross exited Thursday night's preseason game against the Patriots with a concussion and will not return, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Ross caught one of his two targets for nine yards prior to getting injured. It's the veteran wideout's lone catch of the preseason to date, and now he'll have to pass through the league's protocol if he's going to be cleared in time for the preseason finale versus Green Bay on Aug. 24.

Possible concussion
Ross is being examined for a concussion during the Eagles' preseason game against the Patriots on Thursday, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Ross has one catch for nine yards in the game. The wide receiver is competing for the Eagles' third wide receiver role behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Seeing first-team work
Ross was spotted working with the Eagles' first-team offense Thursday, Brandon Lee Gowton of BGN Radio reports.
Analysis: Parris Campbell worked as the Eagles' No. 3 wide receiver during the team's first day of camp, but it now appears that Ross will get a shot to compete for that spot as well. The 28-year-old wideout's most recent in-game action came back in 2021 with the Giants, when he recorded 11 receptions for 224 yards and one touchdown across 12 games (203 offensive snaps). Philadelphia has been in search of a third wide receiver for quite a long time, and it seems as if Ross could have the opportunity to…read more

Signs with Eagles
Ross and the Eagles agreed on a one-year contract Thursday.
Analysis: Ross announced in late November that he was attempting an NFL comeback after temporarily retiring in July and he participated in Philadelphia's rookie minicamp in April. The wide receiver was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft after posting a blazing 4.22 second 40-yard dash time at the combine, but he has yet to really ever find his groove in the league. Attempting NFL comeback
Ross is set to participate in rookie minicamp with the Eagles on a tryout basis after announcing his retirement last year, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Ross announced his retirement at the start of training camp last year after initially signing a reserve/future contract with Kansas City. He was waived from the Chiefs' reserve/retired list in late November and became a free agent, and he now appears to be interested in reviving his NFL career. Ross' most recent action came in 2021 with the Giants, when he played in 10 games and recorded 11 receptions (on 20 targets) for 224 yards and a touchdown while adding one rush for 16 yards.

Set to become free agent
The Chiefs waived Ross from their reserve/retired list Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Hanging up cleats
The Chiefs placed Ross on the reserve/retired list Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The No. 9 overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft signed a one-year deal with the Chifes in January, but he'll opt to step away from the game without even reporting to training camp. After a productive collegiate career at Washington, Ross turned heads at the NFL Scouting Combine when he set the record for the fastest 40-yard dash time (4.22 seconds), but he wasn't able to take advantage of his high-end speed at the NFL level. Analysis: Ross landed this deal with Kansas City shortly after coming in for a tryout with the team Monday, according to Field Yates of ESPN. The 2017 first-round pick did not appear in a game during the 2022 regular season, as he went unsigned for the duration of this campaign. The Cardinals worked out Ross on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Ross missed the final four games in 2021 with a knee injury, but his Tuesday workout for Arizona suggests he's moved past the issue. With Marquise Brown set to miss an extended period of time with a foot injury, the Cardinals could look to sign Ross for added speed in addition to the newly acquired Robbie Anderson.

Nabs 11 receptions
Ross (knee) caught 11 passes on 20 targets for 224 yards and a touchdown in 2021.
Analysis: Ross hasn't been able to stay healthy since he was drafted ninth overall in 2017, but his 4.22 speed should keep him in the league awhile longer, whether in New York or elsewhere.

Won't play Sunday
Ross (knee) has been ruled out Sunday against Washington, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross hasn't played since Week 14 and didn't practice in either of the Giants' first two practices of Week 18, so it's not a surprise to see him ruled out for the final week of the regular season. He'll end his 2021 campaign with 11 catches (20 targets) for 224 yards and one touchdown across 10 appearances.

Absent for another practice
Ross (knee) wasn't on the field for Thursday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Ross hasn't played since Week 14, and given that he hasn't participated in either of the Giants' first two practices of Week 18, he'll most likely remain sidelined for a fourth straight game Sunday against Washington. Kadarius Toney (shoulder) also appears unlikely to play after missing another practice Thursday, likely leaving Kenny Golladay, Darius Slayton (shoulder), David Sills and Pharoh Cooper as the Giants' available options at receiver for the season finale.

Estimated as non-participant
Ross (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Ross has missed the last three games due to a combination of a positive COVID-19 test result and a knee injury. He's still nursing the knee issue ahead of Week 18, and he'll likely need to practice in some form Thursday or Friday if he hopes to play Sunday against Washington.

Won't play
Ross (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Chicago, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Darius Slayton is on the reserve/COVID-19 list while Kadarius Toney (shoulder) and Collin Johnson (hamstring) have been ruled out. That leaves the Giants with Kenny Golladay and practice-squad players as their wideout group for Week 17, with the former including Pharoh Cooper and David Sills. Given the lack of depth, Ross could get playing time if he makes it back for Week 18 against Washington.

Listed as limited Wednesday
Ross (knee) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list, but he's still dealing with a knee injury while also working to regain conditioning. In order to avoid an injury designation heading into Sunday's game in Chicago, he'll likely need to be a full participant in practice Thursday or Friday.

Gets activated
Ross (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross will return to practice Wednesday and seems to have a good chance to suit up in Sunday's matchup against the Bears following a two-game absence. He secured just three of four targets for 35 yards while rushing once for 16 yards in his four appearances prior to testing positive for COVID-19, but he could see a slightly increased role over the final two games of the season after Sterling Shepard (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve last week.

Analysis: Ross has missed the Giants' last two games since he tested positive for COVID-19, but he appears to be trending toward a Week 17 return. Tests positive for coronavirus
Head coach Joe Judge said Wednesday that Ross tested positive for COVID-19, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross will be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list later Wednesday and will need to be asymptomatic for 48 hours and return two consecutive negative tests before he's eligible to return to the Giants' team facility. As such, the speedy wideout's status for Sunday's game against the Cowboys is in serious doubt.

Catches one pass in loss
Ross caught his lone target for seven yards in Sunday's 37-21 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Ross played on just 11 of the Giants' 69 offensive snaps in the contest. The speedy wideout saw limited opportunities in the team's offense, especially with Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton healthy. Once Kadarius Toney (oblique) makes his return, Ross will likely see his snap count shrink even more.

Just one target in Week 13 loss
Ross (illness/quadriceps) failed to corral his lone target in Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Dolphins.
Analysis: Ross was listed as questionable heading into the contest, but he proceeded to suit up and played 31 percent of the Giants' offensive snaps, his largest share since Week 7. The increased role didn't translate to much meaningful volume in the passing game, however, and Ross' outlook is unlikely to improve if fellow wideouts Kadarius Toney (oblique/quadriceps) and Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) are able to return from multi-game absences this weekend against the Chargers.

Analysis: Ross only managed one limited practice this week while tending to the quad injury in addition to an illness, but he demonstrated enough progress over the past couple of days to avoid the inactive list. With fellow wideouts Kadarius Toney (quad/oblique) and Sterling Shepard (quad) both sidelined, Ross will likely share No. 3 receiver duties alongside starters Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton. On extensive Week 13 injury report
Ross (illness/quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Zack Rosenblatt of NJ Advance Media reports.
Analysis: Ross has been limited by a non-COVID illness in practice throughout the week, in addition to a quadriceps injury. That's been a common theme in New York's receiving corps of late, as both Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney are doubtful with quadriceps injuries of their own, and Toney has an oblique issue on top of that. Remains sidelined Thursday
Ross (illness) missed a second consecutive practice Thursday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Sits out practice
Ross (illness) was a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross' absence is magnified by the other injuries facing the Giants' wideout unit. With Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) and Kadarius Toney (quadriceps) also listed as non-participants on the Giants' initial Week 13 injury report, the team could once again be shorthanded at receiver Sunday against the Dolphins.

Catches two passes
Ross caught both of his targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 13-7 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: Though more reps were available at receiver with Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney both sitting out with quadriceps were inactive, Ross ended up playing just 18 percent of the Giants' offensive snaps. The Giants take on an improving Dolphins defense in Week 13, and there's a good chance Ross will see more limited work if at least one of Shepard and Toney are back in action.

Playing Sunday
Ross (quadriceps) is listed as active Sunday versus the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross tended to a quad injury in advance of the Giants' last two games in Weeks 9 and 11, and while he played on both occasions, he combined for 16 offensive snaps and one carry for 16 yards. He has a chance to get back in the target department with Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney out due to their own quad issues. On the season, Ross has averaged a robust 23.6 YPC and 11.8 YPT while scoring one touchdown on his 16 targets in seven appearances.

Ross (quadriceps), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, is expected to play, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Ross' availability will be confirmed approximately 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, when New York releases its inactive list. Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) and Kadarius Toney (quadriceps) are both expected to be listed as inactive, likely positioning Ross to serve as the No. 3 or 4 receiver behind Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton. Ross (quad) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross has been nursing the injury for weeks but has yet to miss a game with the injury. Ross (quadriceps) is active for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross was a midweek addition to the Giants' injury report after a quad issue limited his participation in practices Thursday and Friday, but the coaching and training staffs were satisfied enough with his health to clear him for Sunday. Questionable versus Raiders
Ross (quadriceps) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Raiders.
Analysis: Ross practiced in limited fashion for consecutive days to close out the week. This comes after a full workload at Wednesday's practice, which indicates he sustained the injury then. With Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) already ruled out, and Kenny Golladay (knee) listed as questionable, Ross could again see a healthier workload than usual if he ultimately gets the green light.

Ross (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game versus the Panthers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: The Giants capped Ross to a pair of limited sessions during Week 7 prep, but those constraints won't keep him off the field on game day. With all of Saquon Barkley (ankle), Kenny Golladay (knee), Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) sidelined, Ross should get in the mix in a receiving corps that has been whittled down to WRs Darius Slayton (hamstring), Dante Pettis, Collin Johnson and David Sills, along with TEs Evan Engram (calf) and Kyle Rudolph.

Analysis: With both Darius Slayton (hamstring) and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) unavailable Sunday, Ross might be pressed into a larger workload right from the get-go. The 25-year-old has largely been a disappointment since being drafted ninth overall back in 2017, but his speed is something that will automatically attract the attention of defenses even if he's not targeted.

Expected back for Sunday
Ross (hamstring) is expected to be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game at New Orleans, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: The 25-year-old was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday and is now back at practice, and he apparently won't need much time before rejoining the active roster. Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton aren't practicing due to hamstring injuries, so Ross could immediately see some involvement in the offense if they're sidelined Sunday.

Resumes practicing
The Giants designated Ross (hamstring) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Analysis: The oft-injured speedster missed the first three games of the season, but he may actually be one of the Giants' healthier wideouts at the moment. Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton both missed Wednesday's practice with hamstring injuries, while Kenny Golladay was a limited participant due to a troublesome hip. Ross could thus have a role in the offense if he's deemed healthy enough to play Week 4 at New Orleans, though he's unlikely to be a full-time player even with the Giants somewhat…read more

Lands on injured reserve
Ross (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Michael Elsen of the Giants' official site reports.

Catches passes on rehab field
Ross (hamstring) ran and caught some passes on a side field during Thursday's practice, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: The oft-injured wideout has been sidelined by a hamstring injury ever since his early departure from practice Aug. 9. Ross will miss the entire preseason, and it's even possible he could miss out on a roster spot despite getting $1 million guaranteed on his one-year, $2.25 million contract with the Giants. Even if he sticks with the team and continues to make progress with the hamstring, Ross is unlikely to be any more than the fourth or fifth wide receiver for Week 1.

Injured at practice
Ross departed Monday's practice early due to an apparent hamstring injury, Matt Lombardo of GMenHQ.com reports.
Analysis: Ross grabbed at his upper leg during a 7-on-7 rep and immediately was tended to by the Giants' training staff. The speedster then spent the rest of practice off to the side, watching teammates. Ross has endured a number of injuries in his NFL career, including a foot issue that limited him to just three games in 2020. Less than a week remains before Aug. 14's preseason contest against the Jets.

Looks healthy on Day 1
Ross flashed his speed at Wednesday's practice while taking reps as a kick returner, Art Stapleton of northjersey.com reports.
Analysis: The oft-injured wideout seems to be healthy for the start of training camp after dealing with an undisclosed issue during the offseason program. Ross has $1 million guaranteed on his one-year, $2.25 million contract, so while the Giants clearly expect him to make the Week 1 roster, it won't be a sure thing if he struggles this summer. Banged up again?
Ross participated in June minicamp but appeared to be dealing with an injury, NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt reports.
Analysis: Ross reportedly left practice early, a common theme throughout this career. The 2017 first-round pick played only 27 games in his four years with the Bengals, and a foot injury kept him off the field after Week 6 last season. It's unclear if his limitations in June were related to the foot issue, but either way, he'll have some time to get healthy before training camp starts at the end of July. Catches on with Giants
Ross (foot) has signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Giants, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Per the report, $1 million of the wideout's deal is guaranteed. Assuming he's past the foot issue that derailed his 2020 campaign, the 2017 first-rounder will add some much-needed speed to the Giants' pass-catching corps. Ross has much to prove after faltering during his four-year tenure with the Bengals, but when healthy, the 25-year-old has the wheels to serve as a big play threat. With a fresh start in New York, a 2021 bounce-back is plausible.

Lands on IR
The Bengals have placed Ross (foot) on injured reserve, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross has not played since Week 6 due to a variety of issues. He will now be sidelined at least the next three games. It has been rumored that the 24-year-old and 2017 first-round pick could be transitioned into cornerback due to the team's lack of depth at the position. However, for now he will simply focus on his foot recovery.

Not moving to corner
Ross (foot) never actually practiced at cornerback and only discussed moving to the position with the Bengals' coaching staff, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: This follows an initially incorrect report by Garafolo that Ross had actually injured his foot while practicing at cornerback. The Bengals' dire need to provide depth at cornerback at least allowed them to broach the conversation with the 24-year-old, but no positional move appears to be imminent, especially after Ross suffered a foot injury, which will keep him out for Week 10 and potentially future weeks.

Injured transitioning to corner
Ross, who will not play in Week 10 after injuring his foot, was practicing at cornerback when he suffered the injury, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The 2017 first-round pick has not played more than one offensive snap since Week 3, so the Bengals attempted to have their speedy wideout essentially act as an emergency cornerback considering the team's lack of depth after injuries and COVID-19 have ruled out four corners entering Week 10. It would have been interesting to see if this was simply a one-week deal or if the Bengals truly planned to convert Ross to a different position, but it's a moot point after the 24-year-old injured his foot…read more

Ruled out for Week 10
Ross (foot) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Ross hasn't suited up for game action since Week 6. The 2017 first-round pick is now dealing with a foot injury, but even if he does get healthy soon, it seems unlikely that he'll be a notable factor on offense behind Tyler Boyd, A.J. Green and Tee Higgins.

Shakes off ailment
Ross (illness) was absent from Wednesday's injury report, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Ross missed Week 8 against Tennessee with the illness, but coming out of the team's bye week it appears he's returned to full strength. The 2017 first-round pick has seen himself slide down the receiver depth chart in Cincinnati, and with the position group led by Tyler Boyd, A.J. Green and Tee Higgins, Ross' return likely won't affect the offense too much.

Ross (illness) is listed as inactive Week 8 against Tennessee, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: No surprises here, as Ross entered Week 8 with a "doubtful" tag after missing practice sessions both Thursday and Friday. The position group will be led by Tyler Boyd, A.J. Green and Tee Higgins, as has been the case most weeks this season, even if Ross were healthy and active.

Ross (illness) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Titans, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: Ross began the week as a full participant in practice, but he was then held out of Thursday's session. It looks as though the 2017 first-round pick, who has already been relegated to a depth role on offense, is trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's contest.

The Bengals list Ross as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns with an illness, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Ross previously sat out the Bengals' Week 5 loss to Baltimore with a non-COVID-19-related illness, so he could be dealing with a recurrence of the same ailment. Wants out of Cincinnati
Ross has talked to the Bengals about being traded, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The 2017 first-round pick has yet to find his footing in Cincinnati, largely due to injuries, and he's now nearly halfway through his fourth pro season. Ross was active Sunday against the Colts, marking the first time he'd suited up since Week 2. Per Garafolo, Ross approached the team recently about a trade and wants a fresh start elsewhere. Cleared of illness
Ross (illness) doesn't appear on Wednesday's injury report, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Ross missed the Bengals' Week 5 loss to the Ravens because of an illness, but after sitting out the preceding two games in coach's decisions, he likely would have been inactive even if he was fully healthy. Now that he's shaken the illness, the 2017 first-round pick should be available Sunday against the Colts, and the Bengals could need him to suit up with the health of fellow wideouts A.J. Inactive Sunday
Ross (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: The 2017 first-rounder pick had been a healthy scratch of late, so his Week 5 absence won't have a great impact on the team's Week 5 passing attack. The Bengals' wide receiver corps is currently headed by A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins.

Takes a seat Week 3
Ross (coach's decision) is inactive Week 3 at Philadelphia, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: This may seem surprising on the surface given the fantasy buzz that Ross has gained in the past, but after going without a catch in Week 2 and seeing his snap count cut in half, the writing was on the wall for a potential scratch. A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd will presumably continue to lead the position group for the Bengals, but the absence of Ross will allow Tee Higgins to draw the start.

No receptions in Week 2
Ross didn't haul in either of his two targets in Thursday's 35-30 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Ross logged just 30 percent of the team's offensive snaps in Week 2, ranking fifth among Bengals wideouts and behind even Mike Thomas. Considering it took just one game for rookie Tee Higgins to secure a top-three role, Ross could be pushed out of the gameplans moving forward.

Grabs just two passes Sunday
Ross caught two of five targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Ross couldn't replicate last year's Week 1 magic, and this was his lowest yardage total in a single game since 2018. Rookie QB Joe Burrow spread the ball around Sunday, targeting five players five or more times, so it's encouraging that Ross is at least in the mix to begin the season. Analysis: Ross warmed up for Sunday's scrimmage and dressed as if he intended to play, but he was ultimately restricted to the sideline. It's reassuring that the speedster's absence wasn't an indication that he'd aggravated his arm injury. Quiet finish, brighter future?
Ross had two catches for 42 yards in the Bengals' Week 17 win over the Browns. He finished the season with 28 catches for 506 yards and three touchdowns.
Analysis: Ross could take the leap next season with the Bengals holding the No. 1 pick and presumably eyeing Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow as their new franchise signal-caller. The wideout finished the season with a 20-plus-yard catch in each of his last four games and averaged 18.1 yards per reception in 2019. Ross secured six of 13 targets for 84 yards in the Bengals' 38-35 overtime loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed twice for six yards.
Analysis: Ross finished second on the team to Tyler Boyd in receptions, receiving yardage and targets, and although he couldn't find the end zone like his teammate, he did put together his best performance since returning from a stay on injured reserve due to a shoulder issue. Ross also logged his first two rush attempts of the campaign, and he'll look to build on Sunday's effort and head into the offseason with some momentum when the Bengals face the Browns in Week 17.

Analysis: Ross has now been held to two catches and under 30 yards in each of his first two games back after a shoulder injury. The junior speedster always offers hope of a big play, with a 19.0-yards-per-catch average this season, but he has just six targets in his two games back. Next up is a Miami defense that entered this week having surrendered 54 passes of at least 20 yards, 28th in the league, but it'd be a leap of faith to assume that Ross will get enough targets to make Miami pay.

Makes two catches in return
Ross caught two of three targets for 28 yards during Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Making his return from a long injury layoff, Ross was somewhat eased back into action. He looked explosive on a 24-yard gain but did little of note aside from that play. Ross was a big part of the offense in the early stages of the season and will look to increase his involvement next Sunday against the Patriots. Designated to return from IR
The Bengals revealed Wednesday that Ross (shoulder) will be one of their two players designated to return from injured reserve, though he won't be eligible to play until Dec. 8 in Cleveland, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Ross can resume practicing as soon as he's healthy enough to do so, gearing up for a potential return to game action Week 14.
