Dickers Nuts Rallies Against AngryEye, Secures Spot in Championship
Facing a 14.70-point deficit on Sunday night, Dickers Nuts scored 28.90 to beat AngryEye 170.50 to 120.30. They also put up the second-highest score of the week. This matchup included three lead changes, with the largest lead being 50.20 points after Monday night. Dickers Nuts goes to 1-1 this season against AngryEye, avenging a Week 7 tight loss (143.45 to 139.30) the last time the teams met. AngryEye was led by De'Von Achane with 37.00 points (120 Rsh Yds, 70 Rec Yds, 1 TD) and DK Metcalf, who scored 14.70 (57 Rec Yds, 1 TD).
Both teams had a starter that let some chances slip away. For Dickers Nuts, Hunter Henry saw a total of nine targets, but was able to reel in just four catches. DK Metcalf put on a similar showing for AngryEye, as he was able to snag three passes on seven targets.
For the winners, several players have been postseason stars, most notably Brandon Aubrey and Mike Evans. During the playoffs, that duo has bettered their season scoring averages by 58% and 57%, respectively. On the other hand, Dickers Nuts has a player moving in the wrong direction.
