Scratch Me Because MYBALZICH put up the highest point total this week to beat LasTobys Cerveceros 145.90 to 135.55. Scratch Me Because MYBALZICH took a 10.10-point lead on Thursday and never looked back. This win was revenge for a loss to LasTobys Cerveceros in their last meeting a season ago. LasTobys Cerveceros was led by Jahmyr Gibbs with 28.40 points (31 Rsh Yds, 83 Rec Yds, 1 Rsh TD, 1 Rec TD) and Joe Burrow, who scored 25.55 (271 Pas Yds, 3 TD/2 Int). If LasTobys Cerveceros didn't have both the Lions Defense and Cooper Kupp put up zeroes, it could have gone the other way.
Zach Charbonnet ultimately deserved more touches for LasTobys Cerveceros, as he put up a whopping 66 total yards on just nine touches. A position where LasTobys Cerveceros really made a regrettable choice is wide receiver. DeVonta Smith could have started in place of Cooper Kupp, and that point difference would've swayed the outcome.
For the victorious side, Keenan Allen is warming up at the right time. Over the past four games, he has topped his season scoring average by 64%. Conversely, Scratch Me Because MYBALZICH has a player trending the opposite way, as the Chicago Bears DEF has fallen well beneath their year-to-date average recently. Despite the loss, LasTobys Cerveceros also had a pair of players peaking for the postseason: Zach Charbonnet and Sam LaPorta. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 18.05 and 13.00 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 50% and 39%. On the other hand, the losers had a couple of players who were fading down the stretch: the Detroit Lions DEF and Kupp.
Scratch Me Because MYBALZICH marches on to the semifinals where they will face top-seeded First and Goal, who is coming off a bye week. These teams most recently clashed in Week 6, with First and Goal winning, 156.20 to 139.25. LasTobys Cerveceros concluded the regular season in fifth place with a record of 8-6. Better than their record indicated, they ranked first in the league in points per game with 145.40. LasTobys Cerveceros was one-and-done this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup. They had the league's best average scoring margin this season, outperforming opponents by 13.13 points per game.
