Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Turd Ferg Narrowly Beats Harvey's Putzwadlers, Takes League Championship

A primetime comeback on both Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football wasn't enough for Harvey's Putzwadlers. They had 43.05 points on SNF and 51.50 on MNF (combining to be 52% of their total score), but Turd Ferg still earned the 183.05 to 182.95 victory. The late-match efforts were somewhat unexpected, considering their pregame projections forecasted 22.47 points on Sunday night and 35.21 on Monday. Turd Ferg was led by Tee Higgins this week (131 Rec Yds, 3 TD). Higgins scored three touchdowns and contributed 43.10 points in the tight matchup. Bo Nix also helped the cause with 32.05 points by getting three passing touchdowns (219 Pas Yds, 31 Rsh Yds, 3 TD/1 Int). Turd Ferg had the highest overall score of the week, while also recording the slimmest margin of victory in the league this season.

De'Von Achane had plenty of chances for Turd Ferg, but he logged just 38 total yards on 12 touches.

With 12 targets this week for Higgins, it means that his targets have now increased in three consecutive games.

For the winners, a pair of players have been late-season stars : the Philadelphia Eagles DEF and Higgins. During the playoffs, that duo has exceeded their season scoring averages by 99% and 77%, respectively. Despite the loss, Harvey's Putzwadlers had a few players performing their best in the playoffs, most notably the Kansas City Chiefs DEF and Jayden Daniels. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 14.67 and 40.65 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 120% and 50%.

Turd Ferg wrapped up the regular season in second place with a record of 8-6. In terms of scoring average, they ranked slightly better (first with 137.71). In their only other postseason game on their trail to the title, Turd Ferg beat The QuadFathers, 163.95 to 147.70. Harvey's Putzwadlers finished the regular season in fourth place with a record of 7-7. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (third with 133.22). They played in a pair of previous postseason games this year. In their last game, Harvey's Putzwadlers clobbered Washington Railsplitters, 204.00 to 131.60. The week before, they walloped CardsChappy, 196.70 to 102.25.
