      Week 7 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Matthew Beats Winnies, Moves Into 1st

Both teams put on a primetime show in what turned out to be a 96.06 to 83.30 Matthew win. Matthew and Winnies each had a big Monday night, as Matthew got 39.70 points on MNF (41% of their total score) while Winnies scored 34.80 (42% of their score). While the late-match fireworks were impressive for both teams, Matthew actually outperformed expectations a bit, as they were originally projected to score 34.74 points on Monday night. Matthew was led by Justin Jefferson, who provided 21.40 points to the final tally (81 Rec Yds, 1 TD). To make matters worse, Winnies got zero points from Deebo Samuel Sr. Matthew (6-1, 798.76 points) climbs into first place, while Winnies (3-4, 702.24 points) stays in seventh place.

Alvin Kamara had plenty of chances for Matthew, but he logged just 24 total yards on 13 touches.

Since Jefferson was the leading point-getter for Matthew, it means a different player has now topped the team in each of the past five weeks. With 19.20 points, Khalil Shakir paced the squad in Week 3, while Alvin Kamara put up 24.90 points to lead the way in Week 4. Mike Evans (23.20 points) was tops in Week 5 and Garrett Wilson (24.70 points) led in Week 6.

Matthew has a tough one in Week 8 when they go up against Stampeders (5-2, 1,015.00), who averages a league-leading 145.00 points per game. Winnies takes on Carlisle Knights (4-3, 758.20).
