Baby Thor defeated rikkun 176.78 to 125.06 for their second win in as many head-to-head matchups. Their overall record goes to 10-6, while rikkun drops to 6-10. Baby Thor averages 149.24 points in the series, which is much higher than their season average. They played their best this week, scoring the fourth-highest point total in the league this season. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 218 yards and led the way this week, picking up 39.80 points for Baby Thor. Taylor has turned out to be a nice second-round selection for Baby Thor, averaging 16.01 points per game.
There was one player on rikkun that missed out on opportunities. Despite being targeted seven times, Tyreek Hill could manage just three catches.
Baby Thor was on a different level in the backfield, as they started two of the league's top-five overall RBs this week (including Taylor, who was best overall).
For the winning team, several players have been peaking at the right time, most notably Taylor and the Kansas City Chiefs DEF. Over the past four weeks, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 62% and 51%, respectively. Despite the loss, rikkun had a pair of players peaking for the postseason: Davante Adams and Josh Allen. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 26.52 and 33.19 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 94% and 35%. On the other hand, the losers had a player who was fading down the stretch. Tony Pollard has dipped below his yearly average by 25% over the past month.
Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when Baby Thor matches up against No. 2-seeded Mongols 3. Baby Thor is winless against Mongols 3 in two matchups this season, with their most recent loss coming in Week 12. rikkun finished the regular season in eighth place with a record of 6-9. Better than their record indicated, they ranked fifth in the league in points per game with 124.90. rikkun was bounced early this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
