The production of Chuba Hubbard paved the way, as Michael snatched a win from Deimon Devil Bats 116.56 to 89.64. In the 26.92-point victory for Michael, Hubbard heated up for 32.50 points. He rushed for 152 yards as part of his showcase performance (152 Rsh Yds, 2 TD). He also recorded his highest point total of the season.
Rico Dowdle and Brian Robinson had plenty of chances for Michael, but they logged just 92 total yards on 28 combined touches between them. One slot where Deimon Devil Bats wishes they could get a do-over is QB. Jayden Daniels could have started in place of Jalen Hurts, and that point difference would've altered the outcome.
To go along with the fantasy victory, Michael was savvy enough to select winners in real life, as well. Among all of their starters, Pat Freiermuth is the only one that didn't play on a winning NFL team in Week 16.
For the winners, a pair of players have been getting hot at the right time: Josh Allen and Freiermuth. Over the past four fantasy matchups, that duo has bettered their season scoring averages by 35% and 30%, respectively. Despite the loss, Deimon Devil Bats had two players peaking for the postseason: Puka Nacua and Brian Thomas Jr. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 22.62 and 24.00 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 86% and 57%. On the other hand, the losers had several players who were fading down the stretch, most notably Kyle Pitts and Breece Hall.
Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when Michael faces No. 4-seeded Maybe Next Time. Michael has a 1-1 record against Maybe Next Time this season. Deimon Devil Bats concluded the regular season in sixth place with a record of 7-8. They also ranked sixth in the league with 113.77 points per game. Deimon Devil Bats was one-and-done this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
