      Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

PSU Lions Gets Win Against GIGERs Monsters, Will Play for Consolation Championship

PSU Lions took down GIGERs Monsters 165.68 to 145.38 and put up the seventh-highest point total of the season. PSU Lions took a 10.00-point lead on Thursday and never looked back. PSU Lions goes to 2-1 this season against GIGERs Monsters, avenging a Week 12 loss (178.38 to 128.96) the last time the teams met. PSU Lions, already one of the highest-scoring teams in the league this season, beat their 118.91 per game average by 39%.

PSU Lions was on another level in the backfield, as they started two of the league's top-10 overall RBs this week (including Taylor, who was best overall).

For the winners, several players have been getting hot at the right time, most notably the Cincinnati Bengals DEF and Jonathan Taylor. Over the past month, that duo has surpassed their season scoring averages by 145% and 62%, respectively. Conversely, PSU Lions has a player trending in the wrong direction. Kenneth Walker III has substantially underperformed his year-to-date average recently. GIGERs Monsters had a player who was cooling off at the wrong time. Breece Hall has fallen short of his yearly average by 43% over the past month.

Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when PSU Lions faces top-seeded 850falcons. These teams last met in Week 9, with 850falcons winning, 128.76 to 125.32. GIGERs Monsters ended the regular season in sixth place with a record of 7-8. Catching some unlucky breaks, they ranked third in the league in points per game with 126.46. GIGERs Monsters was one-and-done this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
