Multiple Scoregasms put up the ninth-highest point total this season to beat Simon Dirty Birds 161.78 to 114.26. Multiple Scoregasms took a 62.20-point lead on Thursday and never looked back. Multiple Scoregasms gets revenge for a Week 7 loss (102.70 to 87.04) and improves to 1-1 this season against Simon Dirty Birds. Baker Mayfield led Simon Dirty Birds with 34.56 points (359 Pas Yds, 5 TD) while Jordan Addison brought in 18.90 (69 Rec Yds, 1 TD).
There was one important starter on Multiple Scoregasms that failed to capitalize on opportunites. Despite being targeted seven times, Terry McLaurin could only reel in one catch.
For the winning side, several players have been playoff studs, including Jonathan Taylor and Ladd McConkey. During the playoffs, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 163% and 70%, respectively. On the other hand, Multiple Scoregasms has a pair of players trending in the wrong direction. Chris Boswell and Terry McLaurin have both substantially underperformed their year-to-date averages during the postseason. Despite the loss, Simon Dirty Birds also had two players performing their best in the playoffs: Mayfield and Addison. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 28.44 and 16.70 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 38% and 30%. Conversely, the losers had a player who was sputtering under the brightest lights. Averaging 11.41 points on the season, Cooper Kupp mustered just 4.65 per game in the playoffs.
Multiple Scoregasms concluded the regular season in fourth place with a record of 10-5. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (third with 125.88). In their only other postseason game along the way to winning the trophy, Multiple Scoregasms beat Fu_N_Yo_Team, 160.82 to 127.68. Simon Dirty Birds ended the regular season in second place with a record of 11-4. Perhaps benefiting from some good fortune, they ranked just fifth in the league in scoring average at 126.22 points per game. In their only other postseason game of the season, Simon Dirty Birds stole one from Canton Zebra's, 138.48 to 136.86.
