      Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Muffin Makers Picks Up Win Against Rollo, Moves on to Consolation Championship

The combo of Jonathan Taylor and Deebo Samuel Sr. carried the team, as Muffin Makers got a victory over Rollo 158.32 to 117.00. That tandem combined to score 64.90 points, topping the production from James Cook and Jahmyr Gibbs (53.00 combined points), the top two on Rollo. Taylor rushed for 218 yards, adding 39.80 points (218 Rsh Yds, 3 TD). Sr. also helped out with 25.10 points (96 Rec Yds, 25 Rsh Yds, 1 TD) for the winners. Muffin Makers goes to 2-1 this season against Rollo, avenging a Week 12 loss (110.66 to 39.30) the last time the teams met. Muffin Makers, already one of the highest-scoring teams in the league this season, beat their 103.50 per game average by 53%. Adding insult to injury, Rollo had a starter score zero points (Zamir White).

It wasn't all bad news for Rollo, as they did field a squad of real-life winners. Every starter except Garrett Wilson played on an NFL team that won this past week.

For the winners, several players have been warming up at the right time, most notably Tyjae Spears and Taylor. Over the past four weeks, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 133% and 62%, respectively. On the other hand, Muffin Makers has a player trending the opposite way. Kyle Pitts has substantially underperformed his year-to-date average recently.

Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when Muffin Makers faces No. 4-seeded Lagh. These teams most recently battled in Week 7, with Muffin Makers winning, 112.48 to 89.74. Rollo wrapped up the regular season in sixth place with a record of 8-7. With a scoring average of 97.45, they also placed eighth in the league in that metric. Rollo was sent home quickly this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
