      Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

With Their Stars Coming Up Big, Lagh Will Play for Consolation Championship

Carried by the three-headed monster of Jayden Daniels, Brian Thomas Jr., and James Conner, Lagh got a victory over Justin 177.32 to 132.86. That threesome combined to score 89.22 points, clearly outpacing the top scorers from Justin (Justin Herbert, Bucky Irving, and Jake Elliott), who totaled 57.36 points. Daniels passed for five touchdowns, registering 34.42 points (258 Pas Yds, 81 Rsh Yds, 5 TD/2 Int). Jr. also recorded 28.20 points (132 Rec Yds, 1 TD), while Conner chipped in 26.60 points (117 Rsh Yds, 49 Rec Yds, 1 TD). Also, Daniels recorded the third-highest point total in the league this week. With 177.32 points, Lagh had the third-highest total in the league this season.

Each team had starters that let some chances slip through their hands. On Justin, for example, DK Metcalf was targeted seven times but could reel in just three of them. For Lagh, Hunter Henry and Tyreek Hill combined to catch seven balls on 16 total targets.

For the winners, a few players have been playing their best at the right time, including Jr. and Daniels. Over the past four games, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 57% and 42%, respectively. Justin had a player who was cooling off at the wrong time. Breece Hall has fallen short of his yearly average by 43% over the past month.

Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when Lagh matches up against No. 3-seeded Muffin Makers. These teams most recently clashed in Week 7, with Muffin Makers winning, 112.48 to 89.74. Justin finished the regular season in fifth place with a record of 8-7. They also ranked fifth in the league with 115.97 points per game. Justin was bounced early this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
