      Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Fueled by a Pair of Cincinnati Bengals, Alexander Beats Matthew

The top performances by a dynamic duo of Cincinnati Bengals (Tee Higgins and Joe Burrow) led the way for Alexander. They defeated Matthew 185.18 to 148.06. That tandem teamed up to tally 77.08 points in the win. Higgins scored three touchdowns (131 Rec Yds, 3 TD), adding 40.10 points. Burrow recorded 412 passing yards (412 Pas Yds, 25 Rsh Yds, 3 Pas TD, 1 Rsh TD) to chip in 36.98 points. Higgins also recorded the highest point total in the league this week, with Burrow tallying the second-highest point total in the league this week. With 185.18 points, Alexander had the second-highest total in the league this season.

Matthew had one rather noticeable starter that missed out on some opportunities. Despite being targeted seven times, Terry McLaurin could only reel in one catch.

For the victorious side, several players have been postseason stars, including Higgins and the Buffalo Bills DEF. During the playoffs, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 160% and 73%, respectively. Conversely, Alexander has a player trending in the wrong direction. Jake Moody has fallen well beneath his year-to-date average in the postseason by 32%. Despite the loss, Matthew had a few players performing their best in the playoffs, most notably Bucky Irving and Puka Nacua. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 20.60 and 18.25 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 51% and 49%. On the other hand, the losers had a couple of players who struggled in the playoff spotlight: the Denver Broncos DEF and Terry McLaurin.
