Final Score 140.02 | 61.64 |
Black Cats got the third-highest player points this week from Jayden Daniels with 34.42 points (258 Pas Yds, 81 Rsh Yds, 5 TD/2 Int), clobbering Marcus 140.02 to 61.64. Black Cats gets revenge for a Week 9 loss (130.30 to 106.16) and improves to 1-1 this season against Marcus. Marcus, already one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league this season, scored just 54% of their 113.68 season average. To make matters worse, Marcus had several starters score zero points.
There was one starter on Marcus who wasn't fully in tune with his QB. Even though Tyreek Hill saw a total of seven targets, he reeled in just three catches.
To go along with the fantasy victory, Black Cats was keen enough to select winners in real life, as well. Each of their starters played on a winning NFL team in Week 16.
For the victors, a few players have been playing their best at the right time, most notably Puka Nacua and T.J. Hockenson. Over the past month, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 86% and 52%, respectively. Despite the loss, Marcus also had a couple of players peaking for the postseason: Zach Charbonnet and Jared Goff. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 16.82 and 26.34 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 44% and 40%. On the other hand, the losers had two players who were fading down the stretch: the Chicago Bears DEF and Cooper Kupp.
Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when Black Cats battles No. 4-seeded PHANTOMS-3. Black Cats has a 1-1 record against PHANTOMS-3 this season. Marcus concluded the regular season in seventh place with a record of 7-8. When considering points per game, they ranked slightly better (fifth with 117.15). Marcus was bounced early this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
Daniels (258 Pas Yds, 81 Rsh Yds, 5 TD/2 Int) scored 34.42 points, the highest score of any QB in the league this week.
Robinson (94 Rsh Yds, 2 TD) scored 24.30 points, the eighth-highest score of any RB in the league this week.
With 14.00 points (21 PA, 1 TD, 2 Sack, 1 Int, 2 Fum), the Bills Defense tallied the fifth-highest score for a DEF this week.
It has now been six weeks in a row that Kelce has missed his projections. He scored 8.00 points against a projected 14.00 this week.
By scoring 7.70 points (67.7% of his 11.38-point projection), Hopkins failed to beat projections for the ninth time this season.
Kupp (24 Rec Yds) scored 5.40 points, just 34.6% of his 15.60-point projection. It's the fifth time this season that he failed to beat his projected score.
