      Around The League
      • Cope has now beaten their projected score seven weeks in a row.
      • Gibby won this week, even without starting a top-15 scoring QB.
      • No surprise here: teams have won 63.6% of the time this season when starting the league's top-scoring QB of the week (7-4 overall).
      • TEAM HULK is on a three-game winning streak.
      • Cope probably wishes they had started Malik Nabers. The 36.10 points he scored would have represented the third-highest individual score this week.
      • Teams have won only 37.9% of the time this season (11-18) when they fail to throw a Pass TD.
      • Cope was favored by the widest margin in the league this week (13.15 points) and delivered with a 37.66-point victory.
      • Teams are now 20-18 overall when facing an opponent they previously lost to.

      Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Ho Malone Beats Dan for League Consolation Championship

Ho Malone remains undefeated in two matchups against Dan with a 110.46 to 84.78 win. Both teams are now sitting at 9-8 on the year. Adam Thielen scored two touchdowns and was the key difference this week, putting up 28.00 points for Ho Malone. That's a little less than De'Von Achane, who earned the top score with 32.10 points the last time these teams met. With Ka'imi Fairbairn delivering zero points for Ho Malone, the margin could have been bigger.

De'Von Achane had plenty of chances for Ho Malone, but he logged just 38 total yards on 12 touches.

For the winning side, a few players have been playoff studs, including Thielen and Brian Thomas Jr. During the playoffs, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 218% and 61%, respectively. On the other hand, Ho Malone has a player moving in the wrong direction. Fairbairn has fallen well beneath his year-to-date average in the postseason by 68%. Despite the loss, Dan had two players performing their best in the playoffs: Deebo Samuel Sr. and A.J. Brown. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 17.10 and 18.15 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 78% and 33%. Conversely, the losers had several players who struggled in the playoff spotlight, most notably the Pittsburgh Steelers DEF and Cooper Kupp.

Ho Malone wrapped up the regular season in sixth place with a record of 7-8. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (fourth with 116.95). In their only other postseason game on their voyage to the consolation championship, Ho Malone bulldozed D Kings, 145.22 to 73.16. Dan ended the regular season in fifth place with a record of 8-7. With a scoring average of 114.22, they also placed sixth in the league in that metric. In their only other postseason game of the season, Dan defeated Gibby, 119.14 to 104.14.
