Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

TitanicUpset Beats Bor for League Consolation Championship

Bor could not get off the starting blocks this week and lost to TitanicUpset 66.22 to 56.64. TitanicUpset goes to 2-1 this season against Bor, including a Week 13 comeback (121.30 to 116.40). Bor, already one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league this season, scored just 51% of their 112.13 season average. With Ka'imi Fairbairn delivering zero points for TitanicUpset, the result might have been even worse.

Along with being the one DEF to post a negative score, the Indianapolis Colts DEF (on Bor) represented the lone starter in the whole league in negative territory. Mattison had plenty of chances for Bor, but could post just 38 total yards on 11 touches. A position where Bor made a blunder is RB. Isaac Guerendo could have started in place of Rhamondre Stevenson, and that point difference would have been enough to secure the victory.

For the winning side, two players have been postseason stars : Mason Rudolph and A.J. Brown. During the playoffs, that duo has surpassed their season scoring averages by 146% and 33%, respectively. Conversely, TitanicUpset has a couple of players trending in the wrong direction. Ka'imi Fairbairn and DeAndre Hopkins have both fallen well beneath their year-to-date averages during the postseason. Bor also had a pair of players who were cooling off in the playoffs: Khalil Shakir and Stevenson. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 4.85 and 6.20 points, respectively, falling short of their season-long marks by 59% and 47%.

TitanicUpset finished the regular season in seventh place with a record of 7-8. With a scoring average of 111.45, they also placed eighth in the league in that metric. In their only other postseason game on their path to the consolation championship, TitanicUpset beat rex, 156.38 to 131.90. Bor wrapped up the regular season in fifth place with a record of 8-7. With a scoring average of 112.13, they also placed seventh in the league in that metric. In their only other postseason game of the season, Bor defeated one and only, 123.28 to 114.04.
