      Around The League
      • Bruce continues defying the pundits, and has beaten their projected score seven weeks in a row.
      • Sophie has now beaten their projected score six weeks in a row.
      • Ivan is on a nine-game winning streak.
      • It's our year started the league's top-scoring RB (Taylor with 27.60 points) and the top-scoring TE (McBride with 30.30) this week.
      • No surprise here: teams have won 70.0% of the time this season when starting the league's top-scoring QB of the week (7-3 overall).
      • It's our year probably wishes they had started Malik Nabers. The 36.10 points he scored would have represented the third-highest individual score this week.
      • Teams that started a top-5 scoring RB only went 1-3 overall this week.
      • Teams have won a mere 38.5% of the time this season (15-24) when they fail to throw a Pass TD.

      Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Ivan Ekes Out Win over Joshua tree in League Championship

A comeback under the lights on both Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football wasn't enough for Joshua tree. They scored 30.50 points on SNF and 23.20 on MNF (combining to be 44% of their total score), but Ivan still got the 122.68 to 121.78 victory. Ivan was led by Josh Allen, who contributed 22.98 points in the tight matchup (182 Pas Yds, 2 Pas TD, 1 Rsh TD). It could have gone the other way had Joshua tree not had a starter score zero points (Chuba Hubbard). The 0.90-point win represented the third-slimmest in the league this year, as well.

Along with being the one defense to tally a negative score, the Pittsburgh Steelers DEF (on Joshua tree) represented the only starter in the whole league in the red.

With 33 touches this week for Saquon Barkley, it means that his touches have now increased in three consecutive games.

Ivan has two players cooling off at an inopportune time: Chris Boswell and Allen. Since the playoffs have begun, that duo has dropped 52% and 28% below their respective season-to-date scoring averages. Despite the loss, Joshua tree had a pair of players performing their best in the playoffs: Joe Burrow and George Kittle. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 29.48 and 18.90 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 37% and 33%. On the other hand, the losers had a couple of players who struggled in the playoff spotlight: the Steelers D and Jake Moody.

Ivan wrapped up the regular season in first place with a record of 14-1. They also ranked first in the league with 155.47 points per game. In their only other postseason game along the way to winning the trophy, Ivan defeated Tensta Bears, 146.96 to 110.42. They had the league's best average scoring margin this season, outpacing opponents by 48.31 points per game. Joshua tree concluded the regular season in second place with a record of 10-5. With a scoring average of 122.07, they also placed third in the league in that metric. In their only other postseason game of the season, Joshua tree dismantled Villa, 135.48 to 86.14.
