TasmanianDevil Picks Up Victory over Andrew, Will Play for Consolation Championship
TasmanianDevil beat Andrew 174.58 to 124.62 to improve their season record to 3-0 against them. They improve to 10-6, while Andrew drops to 4-12. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 218 yards and led the effort this week, putting up 39.80 points. Taylor has lived up to his draft position for TasmanianDevil, putting up 16.01 points per game. Adding insult to injury, Andrew got zero points from David Montgomery. TasmanianDevil now has a 42.48-point average margin of victory over Andrew in three matchups.
Along with being the one DEF to post a negative score, the San Francisco 49ers DEF (on Andrew) represented the only starter in the whole league in the red.
TasmanianDevil was on point in the backfield, as they started two of the league's top-five overall RBs this week (including Taylor, who was best overall).
Despite the loss, Andrew had a couple of players peaking for the postseason: Justin Jefferson and Jameson Williams. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 26.45 and 15.33 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 45% and 41%. On the other hand, the losers had a player who was fading down the stretch. The 49ers D has dipped below their yearly average by 52% over the past month.
Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when TasmanianDevil faces No. 3-seeded Bruce. TasmanianDevil is undefeated against Bruce in two matchups this season, with their last win coming in Week 11. Andrew concluded the regular season in eighth place with a record of 4-11. When considering points per game, they ranked slightly better (seventh with 93.78). Andrew was bounced early this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
