A last-ditch rally on Sunday Night Football (56.58 points, 36% of their total score) wasn't enough for NJOKESONU, as Love Thy Nabers pulled out the 186.28 to 155.28 victory. The late-match efforts were somewhat unexpected, considering their original Sunday night projection was only 37.49 points. Love Thy Nabers was led by Tee Higgins this week (131 Rec Yds, 3 TD). Higgins scored three touchdowns and contributed 40.10 points to the cause. Joe Burrow also helped the cause with 36.98 points on 412 passing yards (412 Pas Yds, 25 Rsh Yds, 3 Pas TD, 1 Rsh TD). In addition to that, with 186.28 points, Love Thy Nabers had the third-best total in the league this season.
De'Von Achane had plenty of chances for Love Thy Nabers, but he logged just 38 total yards on 12 touches.
It wasn't all bad news for NJOKESONU, as they did field a squad of real-life winners. Every starter except Bijan Robinson played on a winning NFL team this week.
For the winning side, several players have been heating up in the postseason, most notably Higgins and Jameson Williams. During the playoffs, that duo has bettered their season scoring averages by 160% and 112%, respectively. Conversely, Love Thy Nabers has a player trending in the wrong direction. Chris Boswell has fallen significantly short of his year-to-date average in the postseason by 52%. Despite the loss, NJOKESONU had a few players performing their best in the playoffs, including Malik Nabers and Jayden Daniels. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 24.95 and 33.10 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 70% and 55%. On the other hand, the losers had a player who was sputtering under the brightest lights. Averaging 11.41 points on the season, Cooper Kupp mustered just 4.65 per game in the playoffs.
Love Thy Nabers ended the regular season in first place with a record of 14-1. They also ranked first in the league with 146.62 points per game. In their only other postseason game on their trek to a title, Love Thy Nabers beat the Picking Pickles, 166.78 to 147.72. They had the league's best average scoring margin this season, outpacing opponents by 36.55 points per game. NJOKESONU finished the regular season in second place with a record of 9-6. They also ranked second in the league with 134.77 points per game. In their only other postseason game of the season, NJOKESONU defeated M-66, 167.12 to 117.56. They distributed their fair share of beatdowns this year, as they tallied four blowout victories on the season.
