ITS GETTING MESSI defeated Bears Mafia 180.02 to 136.56 for their second win in as many head-to-head matchups. The two teams now have the same overall record, sitting at 13-4. Tee Higgins scored three touchdowns and led the team this week, picking up 40.10 points. Higgins continues to be a marvelous late-round pickup for ITS GETTING MESSI, putting up 19.35 points per game. On top of the loss, Bears Mafia had a starter score zero points (Ka'imi Fairbairn).
De'Von Achane had plenty of chances for ITS GETTING MESSI, but he logged just 38 total yards on 12 touches.
In addition to the fantasy victory, ITS GETTING MESSI was keen enough to select winners in real life, as well. Each start suited up for a winning NFL team this past week.
For the winning side, several players have been playoff studs, most notably Higgins and Jake Elliott. During the playoffs, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 160% and 84%, respectively. Despite the loss, Bears Mafia had a few players performing their best in the playoffs, including Mike Evans and Justin Jefferson. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 20.80 and 26.80 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 62% and 38%. Conversely, the losers had a couple of players who struggled in the playoff spotlight: Fairbairn and Cooper Kupp.
ITS GETTING MESSI concluded the regular season in second place with a record of 11-4. When considering points per game, they ranked slightly better (first with 143.24). In their only other postseason game on their trek to a title, ITS GETTING MESSI beat hs1, 192.58 to 137.96. They had the league's best average scoring margin this season, outpacing opponents by 28.84 points per game. Bears Mafia ended the regular season in first place with a record of 12-3. With a scoring average of 132.36, they also placed second in the league in that metric. In their only other postseason game of the season, Bears Mafia took down gonzo, 134.88 to 105.08. They delivered their fair share of classic drubbings this year, as they tallied four blowout victories on the season.
