      Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Rufo's Brings Down Ronnie, Secures Spot in Championship

James Conner racked up 26.60 points and Bijan Robinson added another 24.30 points with two touchdowns as Rufo's got past Ronnie 116.78 to 110.04. Rufo's goes to 2-1 this season against Ronnie, avenging a Week 15 loss (156.28 to 140.60) the last time the teams met. Ronnie was led by Anthony Richardson with 20.24 points (131 Pas Yds, 70 Rsh Yds, 1 Pas TD/1 Int, 1 Rsh TD) and Breece Hall, who scored 14.00 (52 Rsh Yds, 38 Rec Yds).

Further evaluating the numbers, Ronnie can place the blame on their choice at RB, Joe Mixon. Mixon was projected to put up 16.59 points, actually ended up with 8.10, and that difference was enough for Rufo's to capitalize.

For the winning team, a couple of players have been warming up at the right time: Conner and Terry McLaurin. Over the past four games, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 41% and 40%, respectively. On the other hand, Rufo's has a player moving in the wrong direction. Cooper Kupp has substantially underperformed his year-to-date average recently. Despite the loss, Ronnie also had a few players peaking for the postseason, most notably Puka Nacua and Richardson. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 22.62 and 17.19 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 86% and 68%. Conversely, the losers had a player who was fading down the stretch. Hall has dipped below his yearly average by 43% over the past month.

Rufo's steamrolled into the playoffs following a steadily superb regular season. Next week, the league championship will be decided when Rufo's faces No. 2-seeded Purple Reign. Rufo's is undefeated against Purple Reign in two matchups this season, with their last win coming in Week 13. Ronnie ended the regular season in fourth place with a record of 8-7. With a scoring average of 110.53, they also placed sixth in the league in that metric. Ronnie was one-and-done this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
