      Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Lima Challengers Tops oconnor to Get Shot at Consolation Championship

Lima Challengers logged the second-highest score this week and took down oconnor 150.38 to 144.24. Lima Challengers goes to 2-1 this season against oconnor, including a Week 13 comeback (136.66 to 125.98). Justin Jefferson racked up the second-highest score in the league this week with 36.40 points (144 Rec Yds, 2 TD) for oconnor.

There are a couple of spots where oconnor really made a regrettable decision, as Jameson Williams could have started in place of Drake London and Tyrone Tracy Jr. in place of D'Andre Swift. Either of those point differentials could have changed the outcome.

It wasn't all bad news for oconnor, as they did put together a team of real-life winners. Every starter except Swift played for an NFL team that won in Week 16.

For the victors, a pair of players have been playing their best at the right time: Davante Adams and Jordan Addison. Over the past four weeks, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 94% and 50%, respectively. Conversely, Lima Challengers has a player trending in the wrong direction. Alexander Mattison has fallen well beneath his year-to-date average recently. Despite the loss, oconnor also had two players peaking for the postseason: Sam LaPorta and Jefferson. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 14.60 and 26.45 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 59% and 45%. On the other hand, the losers had a couple of players who were fading down the stretch: Swift and the Minnesota Vikings DEF.

Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when Lima Challengers matches up against No. 2-seeded bearspawz. Lima Challengers is undefeated against bearspawz in two matchups this season, with their last win coming in Week 11. oconnor ended the regular season in eighth place with a record of 5-10. Better than their record indicated, they ranked fifth in the league in points per game with 113.83. oconnor was sent home quickly this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
