Nicholas beat Carl 120.20 to 107.00, led by Tee Higgins, who put up the highest player score this week with 40.10 points. Nicholas took a 5.90-point lead on Thursday and maintained an advantage throughout the matchup. Nicholas gets revenge for a Week 9 loss (153.24 to 146.20) and improves to 1-1 this season against Carl. Carl was led by Patrick Mahomes with 26.00 points (320 Pas Yds, 3 TD) and Travis Kelce, who scored 22.40 (84 Rec Yds, 1 TD). The outcome could have been worse as Nicholas won despite two starters scoring zero points.
With 12 targets this week for Higgins, it means that his targets have now increased in three consecutive games.
Despite the loss, Carl had several players performing their best in the playoffs, including Jason Sanders and Mahomes. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 14.50 and 24.85 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 52% and 45%. Conversely, the losers had a player who was sputtering under the brightest lights. Averaging 8.80 points on the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers DEF mustered just 0.50 per game in the playoffs.
