Week 15 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Behind a Sizzling Showing from Josh Allen, Thundars Barbarians Rolls into the Semis

The production of Josh Allen made a decisive impact, as Thundars Barbarians defeated Moist Valuable Players 161.60 to 119.00. In the 42.60-point triumph for Thundars Barbarians, Allen exploded for 51.90 points. He passed for 362 yards as part of his showcase performance (362 Pas Yds, 68 Rsh Yds, 2 Pas TD, 2 Rsh TD). He also recorded the second-highest point total in the league this week. With 161.60 points, Thundars Barbarians had their best total of the season. To make matters worse, Moist Valuable Players had a starter score zero points (Cooper Kupp).

Joe Mixon had plenty of chances for Thundars Barbarians, but he logged just 56 total yards on 17 touches.

To go along with the fantasy victory, Thundars Barbarians was savvy enough to choose winners in real football, as well. Among all of their starters, Keenan Allen was the only one that didn't play on a winning NFL team in Week 15.

For the winners, a few players have been getting hot at the right time, most notably the Cincinnati Bengals DEF and K. Allen. Over the past four fantasy matchups, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 92% and 64%, respectively. Despite the loss, Moist Valuable Players had several players peaking for the postseason, including Chase Brown and Rico Dowdle. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 22.22 and 17.77 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 41% and 38%. Conversely, the losers had a couple of players who were fading down the stretch: Brock Purdy and Kupp.

On the heels of a second-half run, Thundars Barbarians squeezed into the playoffs as the No. 7 seed. They move on to the semifinals where they face No. 3-seeded Ziggy. These teams last met in Week 8, with Ziggy winning, 132.65 to 125.65. Moist Valuable Players ended the regular season with a record of 11-3, good for second place. When considering points per game, they ranked slightly worse (third with 144.61). Moist Valuable Players was bounced early this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
