Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

The WiseGuys Gets Late Victory over Ziggy, Wins League Championship

The WiseGuys stays unbeaten against Ziggy with a 132.90 to 125.15 victory. Both teams are now sitting at 11-6 on the year. Ziggy isn't a guaranteed win for The WiseGuys, who now has a 13.75-point average margin of victory against them. That's a lot smaller than their second-best margin of victory in the league of 37.68. Furthermore, The WiseGuys has a 119.50-point average score in the series, a tad lower than their total season average. Patrick Mahomes passed for 320 yards and was the winning factor this week, getting 38.20 points. The Kansas City QB has turned out to be an excellent second-round pick for The WiseGuys, putting up 24.21 points per game.

Achane had plenty of opportunities for Ziggy, but could only manage 38 total yards on 12 touches. There are a few spots where Ziggy wishes they could get a do-over, unfortunately. Jaylen Warren could have started in place of either De'Von Achane or Breece Hall, while Kyler Murray could've played over Matthew Stafford. Any of those point differentials would've swayed the outcome.

With 33 touches this week for Saquon Barkley, it means that his touches have now increased in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Ziggy had several players performing their best in the playoffs, most notably the Philadelphia Eagles DEF and Malik Nabers. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 14.00 and 26.37 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 64% and 52%. On the other hand, the losers had a few players who struggled in the playoff spotlight, including Stafford and Hall.

The WiseGuys finished the regular season in fourth place with a record of 8-6. When considering points per game, they ranked slightly better (second with 142.74). They played in a pair of previous postseason games this year on their voyage to the championship. In their last game, The WiseGuys beat Golden Rulez, 169.50 to 127.15. The week before, they defeated Major Tuddy, 150.75 to 141.45. They passed out their fair share of big losses this year, as they registered five blowout victories on the season. Ziggy wrapped up the regular season in third place with a record of 9-5. Their record was a bit misleading, as they ranked just sixth in the league in scoring average at 125.90 points per game. They played in a pair of previous postseason games this year. In their last game, Ziggy took down Thundars Barbarians, 150.00 to 128.70. The week before, they defeated RANDY'S KILLER SLOTHS, 150.70 to 135.15.
