Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Ziggy Beats Thundars Barbarians to Get Shot at Championship

Ziggy beat Thundars Barbarians 150.00 to 128.70 for their second win in as many head-to-head matchups. Their overall record goes to 11-5, while Thundars Barbarians drops to 9-7. De'Von Achane (120 Rsh Yds, 70 Rec Yds, 1 TD) was the key player this week, putting up 37.00 points for Ziggy. Following the exceptional performance, Achane has shifted into the top five for running backs, averaging 18.80 points per game.

There was one starter on Thundars Barbarians that failed to capitalize on opportunites. Despite being targeted nine times, Hunter Henry could manage just four catches.

For the winners, several players have been postseason stars, most notably Davante Adams and Achane. During the playoffs, that duo has surpassed their season scoring averages by 84% and 47%, respectively. On the other hand, Ziggy has two players trending in the wrong direction. The Minnesota Vikings DEF and Tucker Kraft have both fallen well beneath their year-to-date averages during the postseason. Despite the loss, Thundars Barbarians had a couple of players performing their best in the playoffs: the Cincinnati Bengals DEF and Keenan Allen. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 20.00 and 27.15 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 183% and 126%. Conversely, the losers had a pair of players who struggled in the playoff spotlight: Joe Mixon and Courtland Sutton.

Next week, the league championship will be decided when Ziggy faces No. 4-seeded The WiseGuys. The WiseGuys is the highest-scoring team this season, averaging 144.92 points per game. Thundars Barbarians ended the regular season in seventh place with a record of 8-6. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (sixth with 126.75). In their only other postseason game of the season, Thundars Barbarians defeated Moist Valuable Players, 161.60 to 119.00.
