Powered by a Signature Performance from Chuba Hubbard, Cologne Giants Pride Secures Spot in Championship
With the contribution from Chuba Hubbard playing a key factor, Cologne Giants Pride got a victory over Touchpengs 135.48 to 110.54. In the 24.94-point win for Cologne Giants Pride, Hubbard went off for 28.50 points. He rushed for 152 yards as part of his signature performance (152 Rsh Yds, 2 TD). He also recorded the third-highest point total in the league this week. With 135.48 points, Cologne Giants Pride had the fifth-highest total in the league this season. This postseason win had to feel especially good for Cologne Giants Pride. When last they battled Touchpengs in the playoffs in 2023, they ended up on the wrong end of a title-game showdown.
Cologne Giants Pride was ahead of the curve in the backfield, as they started two of the league's top-10 overall RBs this week (including Hubbard, who was third-best overall).
Despite the loss, Touchpengs had a couple of players peaking for the postseason: James Conner and Jared Goff. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 18.68 and 26.34 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 43% and 40%. Conversely, the losers had a pair of players who were fading down the stretch: Harrison Butker and George Kittle.
