      Cousins isn't expected at voluntary OTAs this spring, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

      Analysis: The Falcons kept Cousins on the roster in mid-March rather than releasing him to avoid a $10 million guarantee kicking in. He may still be traded at some point this offseason, but there's a real chance he enters Week 1 as the backup in Atlanta, behind 2024 first-round pick Michael Penix. The Falcons benched Cousins in favor of Penix for the final three games last season, with the rookie then completing 58 of 100 passes for 737 yards (7.4 YPA), three TDs and three INTs, plus seven carries for 11 yards and another score. Penix played well enough to keep the starting job heading into 2025, but perhaps not well enough for the Falcons to be confident that he's a franchise QB in the making.

      Blackshear is signing a one-year contract with the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

      Analysis: The 2022 UDFA played 41 games for Carolina the past three seasons, taking 68 touches for 341 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns, 66 kickoff returns for 1,734 yards and 23 punt returns for 200 yards. Blackshear returned both kicks and punts in 2024, but he didn't get a restricted-free-agent tender earlier this offseason and now returns to the Panthers on a cheaper contract. He'll likely be third or fourth on the depth chart at running back, behind Chuba Hubbard and Rico Dowdle at the very least.

      Browns GM Andrew Berry said Monday that Hall did require offseason knee surgery, and Hall is expected to miss the offseason program, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

      Analysis: Selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Hall suffered a neck stinger last August and then was involved in a domestic violence issue that led to a five-game suspension. He later missed time with a knee issue, and Hall went on to play in just eight games as a rookie. He finished the year with 14 tackles (eight solo), including 1.0 sacks. Hall should be ready to go for the start of training camp later this summer.

      Analysis: Barmore was diagnosed with blood clots last summer and missed the first 10 games of the 2024 season before being cleared to play in November. He appeared in four games before experiencing recurred symptoms, leading to his placement on the reserve/non-football illness list for the final three contests of the year. Barmore's return would be a massive boost to New England's defensive line.
