Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

AverageJoe Obliterates TheFUBARexperince, Heads to Championship

AverageJoe took advantage of the highest score by a player this week from Jonathan Taylor with 51.80 points (218 Rsh Yds, 3 TD) to destroy TheFUBARexperince 154.90 to 88.85. AverageJoe took a 7.00-point lead on Thursday and never looked back. AverageJoe finally manages a victory against TheFUBARexperince after losing the first four games of the series. TheFUBARexperince was led by Jaxon Smith-Njigba with 24.00 points (95 Rec Yds, 1 TD) and Jake Elliott, who scored 16.00.

There was a player on both teams that had plenty of chances but didn't capitalize on opportunities. On the winning side, Rico Dowdle got 16 touches but only tallied 51 total yards, while Travis Etienne managed just 37 yards on 11 touches for TheFUBARexperince.

For the winners, a few players have been late-season stars, including Taylor and James Conner. During the playoffs, that duo has bettered their season scoring averages by 113% and 85%, respectively. On the other hand, AverageJoe has a pair of players moving in the wrong direction. Jauan Jennings and Trey McBride have both fallen well beneath their year-to-date averages during the postseason. TheFUBARexperince had a couple of players who were fading down the stretch: Cooper Kupp and the Minnesota Vikings DEF. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 7.58 and 7.00 points, respectively, falling short of their season-long marks by 57% and 35%.

Next week, the league championship will be decided when AverageJoe matches up against No. 6-seeded O-Bijan Kenobi. AverageJoe has a 1-1 record against O-Bijan Kenobi this season. TheFUBARexperince concluded the regular season in first place with a record of 9-5. Perhaps benefiting from some good fortune, they ranked just fifth in the league in scoring average at 135.84 points per game. TheFUBARexperince dropped their first playoff game following an opening-round bye.
