EYE CANDY slipped by The Comeback Kid 173.40 to 170.20 while putting up the fourth-highest score this season. EYE CANDY took a 44.60-point lead on Sunday afternoon and never looked back. EYE CANDY goes to 1-1 this season against The Comeback Kid, avenging a Week 7 loss (128.10 to 111.55) the last time the teams met. EYE CANDY, already one of the highest-scoring teams in the league this season, beat their 130.38 per game average by 33%.
Zach Charbonnet probably deserved more touches for The Comeback Kid, as he put up a whopping 66 total yards on just nine touches.
There was some good news for The Comeback Kid, as they did start two of the league's top-five overall WRs this week.
For the winners, a few players have been getting hot at the right time, most notably Jerry Jeudy and Jonnu Smith. Over the past four games, that duo has exceeded their season scoring averages by 76% and 57%, respectively. Conversely, EYE CANDY has a player heading in the opposite direction. Chuba Hubbard has substantially underperformed his year-to-date average recently. Despite the loss, The Comeback Kid also had several players peaking for the postseason, including Mike Evans and Zach Charbonnet. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 23.35 and 18.05 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 59% and 50%.
EYE CANDY secured the No. 3 seed, capitalizing on a fast start to the season. They march on to the semifinals where they go up against No. 2-seeded The next slim shady, who is coming off a bye week. EYE CANDY is undefeated against The next slim shady in two matchups this season, with their last win coming in Week 13. The Comeback Kid ended the regular season in sixth place with a record of 7-7. Better than their record indicated, they ranked second in the league in points per game with 123.53. The Comeback Kid was sent home quickly this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
