      • Weekend Wise Guys continues defying the pundits, and has beaten their projected score 16 weeks in a row.

      • Chicken Dinner, Surprise Bears, and Mr C all won this week, even though none of them had a top-15 scoring QB.
      • Free Agent Drew Lock would have single-handedly defeated The Fighting Amish this week (50.45 to 3.00).
      • Surprise Bears has now beaten their projected score four weeks in a row.
      • No surprise here: teams have won 75.0% of the time this season when starting the league's top-scoring QB of the week (6-2 overall).
      • Baker Mayfield was left on Chicken Dinner's bench this week. His 51.15 points would have been the second-highest individual amount in the league.

      Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

BeerNutz Handles Mr McGibblets to Win League Championship

BeerNutz pummeled Mr McGibblets 202.05 to 102.00 while putting up the sixth-highest point total of the season. This beatdown was revenge for a loss to Mr McGibblets in their last meeting a season ago. BeerNutz, already one of the highest-scoring teams in the league this season, beat their 145.45 per game average by 39%.

Mr McGibblets had one noteworthy starter who wasn't fully in tune with his QB. Despite being targeted seven times, Terry McLaurin could only reel in one catch.

In addition to the fantasy victory, BeerNutz was savvy enough to select winners in real life, as well. Among all of their starters, Bijan Robinson was the only one whose NFL team didn't win this week.

For the winners, a few players have been playoff studs, including the Kansas City Chiefs DEF and Brian Thomas Jr. During the playoffs, that duo has bettered their season scoring averages by 120% and 81%, respectively. On the other hand, BeerNutz has a player moving in the wrong direction. DK Metcalf has fallen significantly short of his year-to-date average in the postseason by 34%. Mr McGibblets also had several players who were cooling off in the playoffs, most notably the Pittsburgh Steelers DEF and Jayden Reed. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 3.00 and 6.35 points, respectively, falling short of their season-long marks by 70% and 53%.

BeerNutz concluded the regular season in fourth place with a record of 8-6. They also ranked fourth in the league with 136.05 points per game. They played in a pair of previous postseason games this year on their voyage to the championship. In their last game, BeerNutz took down Surprise Bears, 209.60 to 164.55. The week before, they defeated Chicken Dinner, 156.30 to 125.80. Mr McGibblets ended the regular season in second place with a record of 9-5. They also ranked second in the league with 154.81 points per game. Following an opening-round playoff bye, Mr McGibblets beat MRAZSPORTS, 164.05 to 129.50.
