Stampeders was clutch when the lights came on with 56.58 points on Sunday Night Football (35% of their total score) to steal the victory from Daniel 160.98 to 140.22. The late heroics were a little unexpected, since they were originally projected to score 37.49 points on Sunday night. Stampeders was led by Jayden Daniels this week (227 Pas Yds, 127 Rsh Yds, 3 TD/1 Int). Daniels passed for three touchdowns and contributed 31.78 points to the cause. Bijan Robinson also chipped in 24.80 points by getting two touchdowns (90 Rsh Yds, 2 TD). In addition to that, with 160.98 points, Stampeders had the eighth-best total in the league this season.
In addition to the fantasy W, Stampeders was savvy enough to select winners in real life, as well. Among all of their starters, Robinson was the only one that didn't play on a winning NFL team this week.
For the winning team, a few players have been playoff studs, including the Philadelphia Eagles DEF and Daniels. During the playoffs, that duo has bettered their season scoring averages by 82% and 55%, respectively. Despite the loss, Daniel had two players performing their best in the playoffs: Jonathan Taylor and Brian Thomas Jr. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 33.70 and 26.05 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 163% and 61%. On the other hand, the losers had a player who was sputtering under the brightest lights. Averaging 16.41 points on the season, Terry McLaurin mustered just 9.25 per game in the playoffs.
Stampeders finished the regular season in first place with a record of 12-3. They also ranked first in the league with 143.33 points per game. In their only other postseason game on their path to the championship, Stampeders defeated Carlisle Knights, 155.18 to 113.40. They had the league's best average scoring margin this season, outpacing opponents by 30.58 points per game. Daniel concluded the regular season in third place with a record of 9-6. In terms of scoring average, they ranked slightly better (second with 125.53). In their only other postseason game of the season, Daniel beat South Bronx Bombers, 161.18 to 123.74.
