Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Big phineas Gets Late Rally on TUSKS to Win League Consolation Championship

Big phineas defeated TUSKS 129.12 to 79.00 for their second win in as many head-to-head matchups. Their overall record goes to 10-7, while TUSKS drops to 8-9. A force to be reckoned with, Jahmyr Gibbs (117 Rsh Yds, 46 Rec Yds, 1 TD) got 26.30 points this week, although it was a little less than his 32.00 points the last time these teams met. Adding insult to injury, TUSKS got zero points from Anthony Richardson.

Unfortunately for TUSKS, the Colts Defense wasn't just the lone D to earn a negative score; they represented the only fantasy starter throughout the whole league in the red. In addition to that, they had a glaring player who wasn't fully in tune with his QB. Despite being targeted seven times, Terry McLaurin could only reel in one catch.

In addition to the fantasy victory, Big phineas was keen enough to select winners in real football, as well. Each of their starters suited up for a winning NFL team this week.

For the winning team, several players have been late-season stars, most notably the Kansas City Chiefs DEF and Jason Sanders. During the playoffs, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 58% and 52%, respectively. Conversely, Big phineas has a player heading in the opposite direction. Cooper Kupp has fallen significantly short of his year-to-date average in the postseason by 59%. Despite the loss, TUSKS had a few players performing their best in the playoffs, including Mike Evans and Brian Thomas Jr. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 20.80 and 26.05 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 62% and 61%. On the other hand, the losers had a couple of players who struggled in the playoff spotlight: Terry McLaurin and Breece Hall.

Big phineas concluded the regular season in fifth place with a record of 8-7. In terms of scoring average, they ranked slightly better (third with 122.20). In their only other postseason game on their voyage to the consolation championship, Big phineas beat Cleats and Cleavage, 155.14 to 145.98. TUSKS ended the regular season in sixth place with a record of 7-8. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (fifth with 123.13). In their only other postseason game of the season, TUSKS took down Lisa, 110.94 to 76.82.
