SKOL Tops Football Fanatic, Secures Spot in Championship
A last-ditch rally on both Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football wasn't enough for Football Fanatic. They had 28.50 points on SNF and 37.70 on MNF (combining to be 52% of their total score), but SKOL still earned the 144.70 to 126.86 victory. SKOL was led by Justin Jefferson (144 Rec Yds, 2 TD). Jefferson scored two touchdowns and contributed 36.40 points to the cause.
SKOL was on a different level with their wideouts, as they started two of the league's top-10 overall WRs this week (including Jefferson, who was second-best overall).
For the winners, several players have been hitting their strides at the right time, most notably Brian Thomas Jr. and Dalton Schultz. Over the past four fantasy matchups, that duo has exceeded their season scoring averages by 57% and 51%, respectively. On the other hand, SKOL has a player trending in the wrong direction. D'Andre Swift has substantially underperformed his year-to-date average recently. Despite the loss, Football Fanatic had a couple of players peaking for the postseason: Josh Allen and Pat Freiermuth. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 33.19 and 12.10 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 35% and 30%. Conversely, the losers had a player who was fading down the stretch. Derrick Henry has dipped below his yearly average by 25% over the past month.
After a steady campaign, SKOL snuck into the playoffs as the No. 4 seed. Next week, the league championship will be decided when SKOL faces No. 2-seeded lilbetillo.
