      Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

High Hopes Rallies to Beat Onis for League Consolation Championship

High Hopes picked up 29.40 points from Ladd McConkey (94 Rec Yds, 2 TD) and 24.80 from Bijan Robinson (90 Rsh Yds, 2 TD), defeating Onis 105.98 to 91.66. High Hopes came into the Sunday night game facing an 8.98-point deficit, but scored 24.80 for the comeback victory. High Hopes goes to 2-1 this season against Onis, including a Week 13 win (152.84 to 127.24). Onis was led by Derrick Henry with 24.50 points (147 Rsh Yds, 1 TD) and Bo Nix, who scored 21.86 (219 Pas Yds, 31 Rsh Yds, 3 TD/1 Int). With Ka'imi Fairbairn delivering zero points for High Hopes, the outcome could have been worse.

On High Hopes, the Pittsburgh Steelers DEF wasn't just the one D to earn a negative score; they represented the lone fantasy starter throughout the entire league in the negatives. In addition to that, Onis had a rather noticeable player that missed out on some opportunities. Terry McLaurin could only reel in a single catch, despite seeing a total of seven targets.

For the winning side, several players have been playoff studs, including T.J. Hockenson and McConkey. During the playoffs, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 72% and 70%, respectively. On the other hand, High Hopes has two players trending the opposite way. The Pittsburgh D and Ka'imi Fairbairn have both substantially underperformed their year-to-date averages during the postseason. Despite the loss, Onis also had a couple of players performing their best in the playoffs: the Cincinnati Bengals DEF and Mark Andrews. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 11.00 and 14.30 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 81% and 35%. Conversely, the losers had a few players who struggled in the playoff spotlight, most notably Cooper Kupp and Joe Mixon.

High Hopes ended the regular season in seventh place with a record of 7-8. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (sixth with 113.31). In their only other postseason game on their voyage to the consolation championship, High Hopes defeated Arizona Fixitmen, 129.44 to 123.10. Onis concluded the regular season in fifth place with a record of 8-7. They also ranked fifth in the league with 115.54 points per game. In their only other postseason game of the season, Onis took down Mile High Wranglers, 140.22 to 107.00.
