Tejas Hombres defeated Zachary 187.74 to 152.38 for their second win in as many head-to-head matchups. Their overall record goes to 11-5, while Zachary drops to 9-7. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 218 yards and was the difference this week, grabbing 39.80 points for Tejas Hombres. The Indianapolis RB has been a good post-draft pickup for Tejas Hombres, averaging 16.01 on the season.
It wasn't all bad news for Zachary, as they did field a team of real-life winners. Every starter except Jalen McMillan played on an NFL team that won this past week.
For the victorious side, a couple of players have been getting hot at the right time: the Atlanta Falcons DEF and Taylor. Over the past four fantasy matchups, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 176% and 62%, respectively. On the other hand, Tejas Hombres has a player trending the opposite way. Derrick Henry has fallen well beneath his year-to-date average recently. Despite the loss, Zachary had several players peaking for the postseason, including McMillan and the Cincinnati Bengals DEF. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 15.40 and 12.75 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 181% and 145%.
Fueled by a strong second half, Tejas Hombres steamrolled into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed. Next week, the league championship will be decided when Tejas Hombres faces No. 2-seeded Bishop-Sycamore Legend. These teams last met in Week 7, with Tejas Hombres winning, 157.28 to 115.14. Zachary wrapped up the regular season in fourth place with a record of 9-6. They also ranked fourth in the league with 119.20 points per game. Zachary was bounced early this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
