Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

G- Team Gets Win over Frank to Get into Consolation Championship

G- Team improves to 2-0 against Frank with a 113.04 to 100.84 victory. Their overall record goes to 9-7, while Frank falls to 6-10. Saquon Barkley rushed for 150 yards and was the winning factor this week, garnering 27.00 points. Barkley has lived up to his draft position for G- Team, contributing a magnificent 22.43 points per game. The gap could have been wider as G- Team had a starter score zero points (John Parker Romo).

There were two starters that left points out on the field for Frank. Even though Hunter Henry and Tyreek Hill saw a total of 16 combined targets, they were able to reel in just seven catches between them.

For the victors, two players have been playing their best at the right time: Romo and Dalton Schultz. Over the past four weeks, that duo has surpassed their season scoring averages by 150% and 51%, respectively. On the other hand, G- Team has a couple of players heading in the opposite direction. The Detroit Lions DEF and Cooper Kupp have both substantially underperformed their year-to-date averages recently. Despite the loss, Frank had a pair of players peaking for the postseason: Jerry Jeudy and Nico Collins. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 20.93 and 17.70 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 44% and 42%. Conversely, the losers had a player who was fading down the stretch. The Minnesota Vikings DEF has dipped below their yearly average by 36% over the past month.

Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when G- Team battles No. 3-seeded Team TuneSquad. These teams most recently clashed in Week 7, with Team TuneSquad winning, 174.32 to 121.36. Frank ended the regular season in eighth place with a record of 6-9. In terms of scoring average, they ranked slightly better (seventh with 120.92). Frank was sent home quickly this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
