      Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Team TuneSquad Beats G- Team to Win League Consolation Championship

Team TuneSquad defeated G- Team 100.88 to 71.30 for their second win in as many head-to-head matchups. Their overall record goes to 8-9, while G- Team drops to 9-8. An unstoppable Jahmyr Gibbs (117 Rsh Yds, 46 Rec Yds, 1 TD) got 26.30 points this week, although it was a little less than his 32.00 points the last time these two teams met. To make matters worse, G- Team had two starters score zero points (Jalen Hurts and John Parker Romo).

There was one significant starter on Team TuneSquad who wasn't fully in tune with his QB. Despite being targeted seven times, Terry McLaurin could only reel in one catch. There are a couple of spots where G- Team is wishing they could get a do-over, as Malik Nabers could have started in place of either Cooper Kupp or Khalil Shakir. Either of those point differentials would have been enough to secure the victory.

With 33 touches this week for Saquon Barkley, it means that his touches have now increased in three consecutive games.

For the winners, several players have been heating up in the postseason, most notably Keenan Allen and Justin Jefferson. During the playoffs, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 58% and 38%, respectively. On the other hand, Team TuneSquad has a couple of players heading in the opposite direction. Terry McLaurin and Josh Allen have both substantially underperformed their year-to-date averages during the postseason. Despite the loss, G- Team had a pair of players performing their best in the playoffs: Deebo Samuel Sr. and Dalton Schultz. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 17.10 and 9.80 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 78% and 36%. Conversely, the losers had a few players who struggled in the playoff spotlight, including Hurts and Kupp.

Team TuneSquad finished the regular season in seventh place with a record of 6-9. Better than their record indicated, they ranked second in the league in points per game with 129.81. In their only other postseason game on their voyage to the consolation championship, Team TuneSquad leveled Rouge rats, 178.56 to 114.38. G- Team wrapped up the regular season with a record of 8-7, good for fifth place. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly worse (seventh with 121.35). In their only other postseason game of the season, G- Team beat Frank, 113.04 to 100.84.
