Week 8 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Jefferson Chiefs Beats Steel Curtain to Grab 6th Place

Jefferson Chiefs got past Steel Curtain 138.74 to 124.82 and put up the highest point total of their season. Steel Curtain has had some misfortune lately after losing their third in a row. Steel Curtain actually averages more per game in losses (116.65) than wins (116.41). Jefferson Chiefs (4-4, 852.32 points) climbs into sixth place and Steel Curtain (2-6, 932.72 points) stays in eighth place.

Dobbins had plenty of opportunities for Steel Curtain, but could only manage 68 total yards on 21 touches. One position where Steel Curtain is wishing they could get a do-over is wide receiver. Marvin Harrison Jr. could have started in place of Amon-Ra St. Brown, and that point difference would've altered the outcome.

Since Cook was the leading point-getter for Jefferson Chiefs, it means a different player has now topped the team in each of the past five weeks. With 33.10 points, Nico Collins paced the squad in Week 4, while Caleb Williams put up 23.56 points to lead the way in Week 5. Bucky Irving (18.50 points) was tops in Week 6 and Tee Higgins (18.20 points) led last week. Additionally, with 29 touches this week for Joe Mixon, it means that his touches have now increased in three consecutive games.

Next week, Jefferson Chiefs faces Naked and Kincaid (5-3, 1,024.04), who puts up a strong 128.00 points per game. Steel Curtain plays Stephen (2-6, 765.48).
