      Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

PollonioFC Picks Up Victory over Auggies to Get into Consolation Championship

Joe Burrow passed for three touchdowns (21.98 points) and Derrick Henry rushed for 162 yards (20.90 points) as PollonioFC got past Auggies 128.58 to 110.62. PollonioFC goes to 2-1 this season against Auggies, including a Week 10 win (131.82 to 104.70). This is the third straight week Auggies has scored less than their previous week's point total. They got 138.42 points two weeks ago, 124.00 last week, and 110.62 points this week.

Rico Dowdle had plenty of chances for PollonioFC, but he logged just 51 total yards on 16 touches.

For the victorious side, a pair of players have been playing their best at the right time: the Cincinnati Bengals DEF and Sam LaPorta. Over the past four weeks, that duo has surpassed their season scoring averages by 145% and 59%, respectively. On the other hand, PollonioFC has a player trending in the wrong direction. Henry has fallen well beneath his year-to-date average recently. Despite the loss, Auggies also had two players peaking for the postseason: Adam Thielen and Wil Lutz. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 17.12 and 12.50 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 176% and 41%. Conversely, the losers had a player who was fading down the stretch. Javonte Williams has dipped below his yearly average by 30% over the past month.

Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when PollonioFC faces No. 4-seeded Adirondacks Waffles. PollonioFC has a 1-1 record against Adirondacks Waffles this season. Auggies ended the regular season in seventh place with a record of 6-9. They also ranked seventh in the league with 117.67 points per game. Auggies was one-and-done this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
