      Week 16 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Bruce Comes from Behind to Squeak By Steven Ed, Moves on to Consolation Championship

Down 0.96 on Sunday night, Bruce came back, sneaking by Steven Ed 117.10 to 115.16. Bruce got 26.60 points from James Conner (117 Rsh Yds, 49 Rec Yds, 1 TD) and 25.10 from Deebo Samuel Sr. (96 Rec Yds, 25 Rsh Yds, 1 TD). This matchup included three lead changes, with the largest lead being 10.10 points after Thursday. Bruce gets revenge for a Week 9 loss (96.90 to 76.62) and improves to 1-1 this season against Steven Ed. Bruce, already one of the highest-scoring teams in the league this season, beat their 87.83 per game average by 33%. With Dak Prescott delivering zero points for Bruce, the result might have been even worse.

Dowdle had plenty of opportunities for Steven Ed, but could only manage 51 total yards on 16 touches.

For the victors, a few players have been hitting their strides at the right time, including Puka Nacua and Conner. Over the past four fantasy matchups, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 86% and 41%, respectively. Conversely, Bruce has a couple of players heading in the opposite direction. Dak Prescott and Harrison Butker have both fallen well beneath their year-to-date averages recently. Despite the loss, Steven Ed also had a pair of players peaking for the postseason: the Kansas City Chiefs DEF and Josh Allen. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 9.50 and 33.19 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 51% and 35%.

Next week, the league consolation championship will be decided when Bruce matches up against top-seeded TasmanianDevil. Bruce is winless against TasmanianDevil in two matchups this season, with their most recent loss coming in Week 11. Steven Ed concluded the regular season in sixth place with a record of 8-7. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (fifth with 113.88). Steven Ed was sent home quickly this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
