Bruce took advantage of 23.40 points from Joe Mixon (102 Rsh Yds, 32 Rec Yds, 1 TD) and 18.10 from Puka Nacua (106 Rec Yds) to get the win over Andrew 116.32 to 110.92. Both teams put on a primetime show. Bruce and Andrew each had a big Sunday night, as Bruce scored 34.52 points on SNF (30% of their total score) while Andrew earned 32.00 (29% of theirs). While Andrew (2-6) is only a game back of Bruce (3-5), they can be confident in their 783.34 to 681.80 season points lead. Andrew actually averages more per game in losses (101.17) than wins (88.17). Both teams hit their projections, but Bruce picked up the win even while Andrew put up a solid effort and scored 25.9% more than their projected 88.13 points. The outcome could have gone the other way had Andrew not had two starters score zero points (Cam Akers and Jameson Williams).
James Conner had plenty of chances for Bruce, but he logged just 69 total yards on 22 touches.
Mixon has now led Bruce in scoring for three consecutive weeks. Also, with 29 touches this week for Joe Mixon, it means that his touches have now increased in three consecutive games.
Bruce takes on Steven Ed (3-5, 856.74) in Week 9, while Andrew gets Efrain (2-6, 818.72).
