Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Belgian Beer Bellies Beats Munze KOnza

A primetime rally on Monday Night Football (68.58 points, 50% of their total score) wasn't enough for Munze KOnza, as Belgian Beer Bellies got the 170.38 to 137.28 victory. The late-match efforts were a little unexpected, considering their original Monday projection was only 52.62 points. Belgian Beer Bellies was led by Tee Higgins this week (131 Rec Yds, 3 TD). Higgins scored three touchdowns and added 40.10 points to the effort. Zach Ertz also pitched in with 25.20 points with two touchdowns (72 Rec Yds, 2 TD). In addition to that, with 170.38 points, Belgian Beer Bellies had the third-best total in the league this season.

Achane had plenty of opportunities for Munze KOnza, but could only manage 38 total yards on 12 touches.

For the winners, a couple of players have been getting hot in the playoffs: Higgins and Will Reichard. During the playoffs, that duo has exceeded their season scoring averages by 160% and 59%, respectively. Conversely, Belgian Beer Bellies has a pair of players trending the opposite way. Brian Robinson and Josh Allen have both fallen significantly short of their year-to-date averages during the postseason. Despite the loss, Munze KOnza had a few players performing their best in the playoffs, most notably Deebo Samuel Sr. and Brock Purdy. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 17.10 and 25.70 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 78% and 63%. On the other hand, the losers had a player who was sputtering under the brightest lights. Averaging 10.53 points on the season, the Denver Broncos DEF mustered just 5.50 per game in the playoffs.
