Farkas Forkballs Ekes Out Victory over Maserati Marv and Stays Undefeated in the Series
This week's two highest-scoring teams met in a shootout as Farkas Forkballs snuck by Maserati Marv 164.30 to 158.10. This is the first time this season a team has scored this many points and not picked up the win. The loss drops Maserati Marv to 5th (7-8) in the standings. Farkas Forkballs (11-4) is in first place and has the highest points per game average at 145.57. However, the combined points was tough to predict given that Farkas Forkballs was only expected to score 125.73 points and Maserati Marv was projected to score 119.23 points. Lamar Jackson (290 Pas Yds, 65 Rsh Yds, 5 TD) got 36.10 points and Jahmyr Gibbs (31 Rsh Yds, 83 Rec Yds, 1 Rsh TD, 1 Rec TD) scored 28.40 points, exceeding their projections by 66.1% and 72.3%, respectively. Davante Adams (198 Rec Yds, 2 TD) accumulated the highest point total in the league this week (42.80) and Terry McLaurin scored 26.30 points for Maserati Marv.
Digging deeper into the numbers, Maserati Marv can place the blame on their RB, Saquon Barkley. Barkley had been projected to score 19.77 points, actually ended up with 9.40, and that difference was enough for Farkas Forkballs to capitalize.
