Funny you should mention the idea of each owner having two teams, as I was pondering the same thing this past week. Even though on the surface, it seems plausible, there are still some unforeseen problems that would could crop up as they do now (injuries, suspensions, real life trades) as well as the usual bye week complications. And even if we'd determine teams by last year's results it still might not be more equitable (the dramatic improvement of the Chiefs is a good example). In the end it might be more trouble than it's worth, but a nice idea.
As for making one's team's players off limits, it also seems too difficult to incorporate; even giving someone first dibs would be hard to implement.
I do think that most everyone seems to be fielding as many of their home team players as possible in any given week, though. I haven't faced anyone yet who hasn't played at least half of their 8 + D. Some of us have had more challenges than others (Ice Cold Brewskis come to mind with Amendola and Gronk being on and off IR all season) trying to stick with mostly HT players. And now that I've lost my starting QB for the season, that devalues all my other offensive players, so I'm going to have to look elsewhere for offense, while leaning heavier on my Rams IDPs, if I want to compete at all.
Anyway, I just think more restrictions would make things less, not more, fun, and could give Crash a big headache trying to keep it all sorted out. :-)Mon, Nov 4, 12:24pmJason says: I do not see a problem as it seems it was an honest mistake. The rule was fuzzy and there were multiple teams that have had the same violation (maybe me too?) This is not a money league, so lets keep it fun and keep an eye open in the future.
Since we have been playing in the league for half a season, let me share some thoughts about how the league is going. I like the team concept. What sucks though is that other teams can pick up your players. Last week I played the rams and I played their starting rb against them. The eagles had to trade to get their starting qb. There are skins players that are sitting on other teams that I would like to have. How about making players from your team off limits?
I also thought that it could be fun that if your team was only 2 teams. There are 16 teams in the league, half of the 32 teams in the nfl. I wonder how it would work out if a team was just 2 teams , lets say jets and skins for example. We could rank for fantasy purposes worst to first (jets to broncos maybe). The team that selects the jets as their favorites, could get first pick on their second team where the broncos would get the last remaining team.
Thats all, just thinking of other fun ways that we could expand the league. Take a look at some of the teams starting lineups and there are very few starting players from their selected teams, which defeats the concept of the league. All I know is that it sucks to look for a player from your team and he is not there.Sun, Nov 3, 6:50am
