The Broncos signed Ehlinger to a one-year contract Wednesday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.

Analysis: Ehlinger, who spent the first four years of his NFL career in Indianapolis, didn't see action in a single game in 2024, though he did operate as the team's emergency third quarterback on multiple occasions. He'll now compete to carve out a reserve role behind Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham in Denver.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Tuesday that the 49ers intend to bring in a veteran kicker "who's capable of taking that job" to compete with Moody this offseason, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis: Shanahan communicated a belief that competition could bring out the best in Moody going forward, saying "if he can overcome that, and beat out a capable guy, that'll show us he's ready for the season." A 2023 third-round pick, Moody's struggles in 2024 can be attributed in part to a high-ankle sprain, which forced him to miss three contests and could have continued to impact his performance upon return to the field. He converted just 71 percent of his field goals across 14 regular-season appearances, and made only four of nine field-goal attempts from 50+ yards out.

Coach Andy Reid said Tuesday that Rice (knee) is "on track to be ready" for training camp in July, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.

Analysis: Rice's recovery from right knee surgery to address a season-ending injury sustained Week 4 continues to proceed well. All signs point to the 2023 second-round pick reaching full health well ahead of the start of the 2025 regular season, though he could still face a potential suspension related to his involvement in a hit-and-run car crash that occurred last March. In the three games he played fully last season, Rice emerged as Kansas City's clear top receiving option, racking up 24 catches for 288 yards and two scores. It will be interesting to see what role Rice now finds himself in, with Travis Kelce returning for a 13th season, Xavier Worthy heading into Year 2, and Hollywood Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster both having re-signed with the Chiefs.
