Powered by Their Big Three, Black Sheep Blows Up Fear the Bird
The triple threat of Jalen Hurts, Alvin Kamara, and Justin Jefferson led the charge, as Black Sheep tore apart Fear the Bird 280.00 to 170.00. That threesome combined to tally 146.00 points, topping the production from the top scorers from Fear the Bird (Sam Darnold, Rico Dowdle, and Kerby Joseph), who totaled 98.00 points. Kamara rushed for 155 yards, registering 49.00 points (155 Rsh Yds, 60 Rec Yds). Hurts also came through with 62.00 points (230 Pas Yds, 67 Rsh Yds, 2 Pas TD, 1 Rsh TD), while Jefferson chipped in 35.00 points (137 Rec Yds). Kamara also recorded the highest point total of the week at his position. Black Sheep had their highest score of the season, as well as the third-biggest margin of victory in the league. Black Sheep played one starter with zero points while Fear the Bird served up two goose eggs, meaning both teams could have scored more points. Fear the Bird (6-3, 907.50 points) drops to eighth place, while Black Sheep (5-4, 1,026.00 points) remains in 10th place.
Zach Charbonnet probably deserved more touches for Fear the Bird, as he put up a whopping 33 total yards on just four touches.
Since Hurts was the leading point-getter for Black Sheep, it means a different player has now topped the team in each of the past five weeks. With 30.00 points, Lavonte David paced the squad in Week 5, while Kenneth Walker III put up 30.00 points to lead the way in Week 6.
