Purple Reign Brings Down Suplentes, Will Play for Championship
Purple Reign stays undefeated in two matchups against Suplentes with a 173.78 to 135.72 victory. Their overall record goes to 12-4, while Suplentes falls to 10-6. Suplentes has been a tough matchup for Purple Reign, who now has a 19.52-point average margin of victory against them. That's thinner than their league-leading margin of victory of 49.50. De'Von Achane (120 Rsh Yds, 70 Rec Yds, 1 TD) did the most damage this week, getting 31.00 points. Backed by the incredible game, the Miami RB has climbed into the top five for running backs, producing 18.40 points per game.
Purple Reign was on another level in the backfield, as they started two of the league's top-10 overall RBs this week (including Achane, who was in the top five).
For the winning side, a few players have been hitting their strides at the right time, most notably Brandon McManus and Tee Higgins. Over the past four weeks, that duo has surpassed their season scoring averages by 125% and 41%, respectively. Despite the loss, Suplentes had two players peaking for the postseason: Keenan Allen and Pat Freiermuth. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 19.90 and 12.10 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 93% and 30%. On the other hand, the losers had a player who was fading down the stretch. Derrick Henry has dipped below his yearly average by 25% over the past month.
