The combo of Tee Higgins and Jayden Daniels led the charge, as Purple Reign beat Rufo's 176.08 to 125.22. That tandem combined to tally 71.88 points, substantially more than Trey McBride and Lamar Jackson (59.72 combined points), the top two on Rufo's. Higgins scored three touchdowns, accumulating 40.10 points (131 Rec Yds, 3 TD). Daniels also came through with three passing touchdowns on his way to 31.78 points (227 Pas Yds, 127 Rsh Yds, 3 TD/1 Int). Purple Reign goes to 1-2 this season against Rufo's, avenging a Week 13 loss (153.78 to 143.38) the last time the teams met. This is the third consecutive week Purple Reign has improved upon their previous week's point total. They got 145.24 points two weeks ago, 173.78 last week, and 176.08 this week.
Rufo's had one noteworthy starter that missed out on opportunities. Despite being targeted seven times, Terry McLaurin could only reel in one catch.
In addition to the fantasy victory, Purple Reign was savvy enough to select winners in real life, as well. Among all of their starters, Brandon McManus was the only one that didn't suit up on a winning NFL team in Week 17.
For the winners, several players have been postseason stars, including the Baltimore Ravens DEF and Higgins. During the playoffs, that duo has bettered their season scoring averages by 174% and 160%, respectively.
Purple Reign ended the regular season in second place with a record of 11-4. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (first with 141.32). In their only other postseason game on their trek to a title, Purple Reign took down Suplentes, 173.78 to 135.72. They had the league's best average scoring margin this season, outpacing opponents by 33.30 points per game. Rufo's concluded the regular season with a record of 13-2, good for first place. In terms of scoring average, they ranked slightly worse (second with 135.62). In their only other postseason game of the season, Rufo's beat Ronnie, 116.78 to 110.04. They handed out their fair share of pain this year, as they tallied six blowout victories on the season.
